Actually, the new deluxe BB only uses the same engineering as BBBB and isn't a retool at all, since it's slightly smaller. He really does make the transformation much simpler and everything stays together perfectly fine. Definately falls behind the Battle Blade mold as best BB movie figure.

As of now I only own Leader Sentinel Prime, Voyager Ironhide, and Voyager Shockwave.

Ironically, I enjoy Ironhide the most out of the three, and he seems to be the voyager people are the most iffy on. The arms are a bit funky, and the flat bed of the truck could be smoother, but he is just a lot of fun in my opinion.

Voyager Shockwave is in the middle. I really have no complaints about him, I just have more fun messing around with Ironhide. Not the biggest fan of the hose (though I know its both movie accurate, and a throwback to his G1 toy), but it's easily removable.

Finally, and again kind of ironically, Leader Sentinel Prime is my least favorite of the three. He just isn't that fun to play with. Obviously if you just want to display him he looks great, but he is just too frustrating to really mess around with.

The waist on Battle Blades Bee rotates just as freely. I also prefer the Battle Blade proportions. It's debatable which is more accurate. He has a neck, where the new version's head is sunk into his chest.

DOTM is definitely more fun to transform though.

That's why I said looks. Going from pictures, they didn't look all that different at first. But in hand, just about every part seems to have been remade in some way. Many of the parts rotate on different joints, so it really feels like a whole new experience.

Welcome to the club. Now get Skyhammer

I, too, wasn't too keen on the DOTM figs based on early pix, but some of them are pretty good - Shockwave, Skyhammer, the Cyberverse guys (fun and pleasant surprise those). That said I still think 90% of them are ugly though. =/

My wife is exasperated with me because while I was furiously buying Generations and RTS the past 6 months I kept saying "don't worry I'm not gonna buy any movie figs, they are really bad" and I meant it too... but that was before I saw the ones I've since picked up. Sigh.

The thigh panels in particular are a welcomed change. The added peg and swivel joint at the base make it less of a paint in the ass.

I'm kinda wanting Deluxe BB now. I mean, I've got all the DOTM figs I need and Shockwave isn't out yet...

I think you might enjoy Skyhammer, wonky knee articulation aside. He is one of my favorites from the line so far, and a must-have if you are into helicopter TFs.

I'll also have to give nods to Ratchet and Megatron. Great figures too.

I quite enjoy Ironhide myself. I've got no problems with his arms, lack of forward shoulder movement aside, and he's much more fun to transform than any of his previous versions (some really tight joints and precise alignment issues on the original Voyager, kibble clearance issues on the Deluxe), and has generally a much more dynamic look to his robot mode. Pretty fun to transform, too.

I'm still trying to remember where the hell I put my RotF Ironhide's big cannons. I bought that toy just to outfit this guy, and now I don't remember where I stashed them. For now, he's chilling with Recon's arm cannons. But they feel... inadequate.

I probably sound like a broken record, but I want to like the DOTM figure, but without at least the face mask of the BBBB figure he's just not on par, even with the improvements in transformation.

I'm still tempted to pick up the Cyberfire repaint later on however.

I generally love all the toys I've gotten from the DOTM line. So far, here is what I've picked up:

    Deluxe:

    Bumblebee
    Ratchet
    Sideswipe
    Roadbuster
    Topspin
    Crankcase
    Barricade

    Voyager:

    Shockwave
    Megatron
    Ironhide

    Leader:

    Sentinel Prime

So far, I've yet to have any real problems with the toys, and hope to see more great additions to this toy line in the future.

So far, I have DOTM Barricade, Bumblebee, Starscream, Megatron, Skyhammer, Cyberverse Barricade, and the K-Mart exclusive HA Autobot Daredevil Squad set.

Of them all, the only one I was disappointed with is the Backfire from the Autobot Daredevil Squad (his alt-mode looks cool, but his robot mode... not so much).

I think the DOTM toy line is pretty good so far... and this is coming from someone who absolutely loves the Movies.

Even if you ignore the head and arm gimmicks, BBBB has a better looking mix of plastics and paint apps. In addition to the facemask, the head also has a greater range of motion(DOTM can't really look up). So BBBB is definitely the superior figure, but DOTM Bee is still worth having.

I'd say Battleblades is more fun to pose, while DOTM is more fun to transform.

And DotM is more fun if you're a weapon whore, with 6 Mechtech-capable ports accessible in robot mode, and a couple of clip points as well.

Wanted to chime in... I'm not a huge collector or anything. I love my Leader Primes and stuff, but this line is making me cave.

LOVE Deluxe Starscream. Picked him and Voyager Megs today. Starscream is fun to mess with and I love the blades. Megs looks great to me (even if he's camera shy). Just beat down, ashamed but with a BFG that could still lay someone out. Love him.

I also picked up Shocky last week, and frankly I couldn't have asked for a better movie version of him. Love the gun, love the bot mode and I even like the "Ground Assault Mode".

I'm so screwed whenever Soundwave, Brains (potential to go with ROTF Wheelie), Wheeljack and Ultimate Prime (I wish the jet pack was more accurate) come out.

I'm a big fan of dotm so far. Cyberverse especially. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they come out with.

Get Leader Bumblebee if you don't care about scale. He looks great in both vehicle and robot mode, and the transformation is simple but effective, I have fun transforming forth and back. The backpack may take a while to like it, but it works wonder in its Stealth Force mode. It is a really underrated toy

I also figured I wouldn't be that into the line from the initial reviews, but now I've bought every decepticon except lazerbeak & barricade, and I'm probably going to cave in and get a few autobots (ratchet and nitro bee) tomorrow. Love the line so far, best movie line yet IMO, much better than the start of the ROTF line.

I've got to admit, while the toys are missing a lot of paint apps the new stuff isn't quite as awful as I thought it would be. Granted, the only two I own so far are Crankcase and Shockwave, but still they're both really cool, especially the latter.

There are still some, however that I feel are disappointing, like Jolt, the new BB, and Barricade, but at least I've got all the originals, so I don't really need them anyway.
