Or maybe he just genuinely thought it was lacking in many areas? God forbid someone apologize for their mistakes.

Hopefully changes in designs don't happen where it's too obvious like the Ninja Turtles.

He said he wanted to take a year long break from the films before ROTF even came out, so he definetly wants a break, at least. For forever? Who knows. Hasbro seems (no arguing, I guess) right and happy to go making more films, with or without Bay. And no Shia? BRILLIANCE. The smartest move this film series would ever make.

There's gonna be a reboot somewhere down the line. Different actors, different director, hell, maybe even a different aesthetic. The movies print money for Hasbro, so it'd be a pretty dumb move to go back to simple cartoons.

Well, we can, but the whole generation of new fans that the movies have brought the brand has sure won't recognize them.

I agree. Now that they've been shown real money with three movies under their belt, I doubt they will just want to stick with cartoons for the rest of their future. Why just stop with three movies? Ha.

True, and if a reoot does happen they'll wait a few years first, like how WB waited a few years after "Batman and Robin" to give us "Batman Begins".

Wow this reminds me of the thread I started 2 weeks ago about the franchise beyond Bay lol. Lots of good input and thoughts from the TF fans.

Not if they use Classics/Universe or Alternators designs, I say.

Indeed. It is an untrue statement to say that updated G1 designs could not work onscreen. However, I simply prefer the movie aesthetic to the Classics-style.

If you were to look at a picture of Michael Bay from when he started TF1 to DOTM you'd see how much the stress of this series has aged him. Seriously look at his hair, Its thinned and greyed a shit ton over the course of just 6 years.

If I were him i'd be taking 2 years off to just relax after the 6 years I gave to Paramount and Hasbro, making them over a billion in revenues.

how in the hell do you give him credit for the cgi ?????

    These boards are delusional.

Bay gets credit for filming and scene shots but the CGI is alllllllll ILM. have you missed the ILM videos on the frontpage.

his direction also has little to do with what ILM puts on the film

Soooo? It being 6 years later has nothing to do with him looking older ? Its not like he is running a country or something jees.

Well you know the guy has all that responsibility some fans give him credit for.

He does every bit of the films all by himself except for any bad bits which someone one else did because directors only have control over the good bits of a film.

All of Transformers rests upon his shoulders because the brand was just so dead before he rode in on his white horse to save it. Plus the movie toys are the only Transformers toys to have ever sold.

Topped with he's the only thing keeping Hasbro alive because not only are Bay's Transformers movies the only thing keeping Hasbro alive but it was only money from the Transformers movies that purchased The Hub. You know because things like Nerf, Star Wars, Marvel movie toys, and all those other brands don't make Hasbro a dime.

And of course he has to make a Transformers movie every two years for the rest of his life because it was okay to change things before but now the movies must be exactly like the Bay films until the end of time.

Being the only thing keeping the movie industry, Transformers, and Hasbro afloat must be an insane amount of responsibility :D

I disagree. Still gonna look bad. SPECIALLY alternators because not only they still got the bad Voltron gray man faces they're also clunky and fat.

It just doesn't work, it ALWAYS feels like a giant cgi toy, and everytime I see somebody showing a cgi model of MP Prime or whatever and going 'THIS IS WHAT BAYFORMERS SHOULD BE" I can't help but laugh.

I would imagine that with all the whiny assholes in this fandom, bitching about the slightest changes from a 25 year old cartoon series, blaming him for everything that they don't like (whether he did it or not) while refusing to credit him for anything he does that they do like, Michael Bay would be more than glad to run a MILE from this property. Fair play to him for putting up with it for 3 movies as it is.

Yes a literal translation of the g1 models would be wierd, however im not going to bend over and take it from some army of kids watching the movies and PRIME who are too selfish with their idea of whats makes the best Transformers media and not listening to those of us that are in our 30's who have seen it (<"ALL">) from the start.

And that's not "selfish" at all, right? What makes your idea of "whats makes the best Transformers media" better than theirs? Or mine, for that matter, considering I'm ALSO in my 30s and have ALSO "seen it all"?
