Wow, I love how well they incorporated the Mech Tech ports. Doesn't at all look like they shoe-horned in the new gimmick --arguably does a better job at it than the "actual" DotM molds. TheLooseJoints has a video guide: TLJ: Breakaway Mod While Jin Satome has a quick pictorial guide: ROTF figure fixes: Breakaway Neck
I couldn't care less about weapon holes. The feet are what need remolds, in my opinion. Put some shoes on, you hippie.
Can someone who has another version of this mold tell me if the head is permanently tilted down like that, or if you can make him look straight ahead instead of at the ground?
He looks far better than either Breakaway or Thrust (hated their silly looking heads). But honestly, I can't see myself shelling out $30 for a TT deluxe movie toy, no matter how nice it may look. I'd rather spend it on Warpath/Grapple/Windcharger instead.
Not sure if i like this or not, I'm happy with Thrust...when i did have him. Is there some type of fix for the posability for the head? it looks alot better than before?
He has the gattling gun the side of his arm (like the other versions of this mold) and a Mech Tech weapon. Randy
I really dig this one. I wouldn't mind getting 2-3 of these to go with my Breakaway and Thrust to make a special squad. either it is the colors or they fixed the old head issue, i can't really tell. but if the head sticks out better now, this is a definite must buy for me.
Most likely the photographer modded the toys themselves (seeing how Breakaway and Air Raid have the same mods). A bit like how that early gallery of Skyhammer who was repainted in parts by the owner. And since a few people asked for a head mod for the mold:
Acturally Both Gallery of Skyhammer and Air raid are done by me.....I didn't post them here just becoz that take too long to translate every review..... For the Air Raid, I have it customized like what I did to breakaway. This part is easy, just need some time and skill. I take out the front cockpit window part(2 screws will done) cut the locking plates and glue it to the back cockpit window. It is fast but need to be very careful as the parts are CLEAR which means you only have one chance to glue it right. Try to file both sides a bit before you glue them together(increase contact surface). There are some glue for Clear Plastic and won't coz any white mark. Should be available in some Pro-Modeling shop. If you glue it well it will work just fine. I didn't break my breakaway for such a long time playing. Other from the cockpit, I filed away the detail on the waist which can increase the posing. I also have a close shot on that, which is also easy work. After all I will say this one is worth getting if you have the time to make several kit bash. If you want to practice first, you can get a breakaway as it is relatively cheap now
