yay, the botcon prep podcast! this marks the 1 year anniversary of me listening to wtf@tfw :)  I got my dad to go to it last year to pick me up an entire set, and I started listening to see if there was anything he needed to know as far as picking up his figures. it's been fun listening to you guys, and I look forward to it every week.

Man Botcon sounds SUPER intense compared to TFcon :S Seems like a really dense Con!

WTF@TFW was what drew me back to TF fandom in general (along with Vaneglus' reviews, and so forth), to the point that this year will be my very first Botcon. So I've been SUPER looking forward to you guys doing one of these. :D

Last year's sounded like it like it was really informative, and this being my first Con, I've been looking for all the advice I can get. ^_^

I can't believe even one guy would come with no polo shirt or without taking a shower.

We've had a good run in the middle of the country, 94, 95, 96, 99, 2000, 02, OTFCC 03 and 04, 05ish, 06, and 08. They've just missed out for more feature locations the last couple of years.

Yeah, TFCon is much slower paced than BotCon. Not a bad thing or a good thing. Just a different attitude.

Glad to hear that we brought you back in. I won't question your judgement THAT much, but if you see one of us say hey.

    Believe it. Sadly.

I will make sure that someone is gathering video as this can gets opened.

i'm talking about those of us in texas, arkansas, oklahoma, that area, ever since '05 we have been screwed over for botcon, the ONLY closeish one i would even CONSIDER is maybe kentucky, and even then that is still basically east coast

i would not count '08 since it is basically east coast seeing as it is right next to new york

i'm not talking about botcons held by other groups, i am talking about just the botcons held by funpub

Think about this, if you are in the middle and it's on a coast you have to travel far. But if you're on a cost and it's in the middle that's just as far for us. Or if it's on the other coast like it was for me and others last year, or Gogdog and others this year it's really far. Also think about how that's nothing compared to people coming from Canada, Europe, Australia, South America, and so on and you're not really getting screwed at all.

This made me sad I'm not going.

One tip I'd give is don't get into a shopping frenzy in the dealer room. It's easy to see all the shiny robots and practically start frothing at the mouth with desire, but take a deep breath, relax, and take your time.

I've had the pepperoni one before... Remember that TFCon podcast where someone had a pepperoni sandwich that was basically all one texture and quite possibly 100% meef? It's kinda like that.
