I don't understand why there isn't a Leader Class Prime or Megatron for DOTM. Why all the nonsense? Just give the people what the want.

I agree Hasbro should do a tf3 Leader Optimus with mechtech jetwings that can still be sold at Leader price. tf3 Leader megatron with big cannon would be nice also.
Maybe a leader mechtech trailer can be sold separately.

I can see hasbro making a new voyager or ultra prime with jetwings and selling it at a leader pricepoint. Thanks for the added info digilaut. Looking at it from a distance, I think the main thing that throws off the base figure is the fact that the cab nose halves hang off his arms making him look like Crumplezone from Transformers Cybertron.

I agree with Digilaut, it definitely looks a lot less bad in person.
The core robot mode has some nice silver paint on his legs and he has a nice blue (almost the same blue as on Buster Prime)

Forgive my crappy cell-phone pics (maybe someone else who went to the convention has better pics)

They were able to sell Leader Sentinel Prime with a huge shield and sword at Leader price ($40 at kmart.com and kmart stores), so I believe it is possible to sell a Leader Optimus with shorter mechtech jetwings and at least 1 big mechtech gun, for the same Leader price.

For the Ultimate, the wings are just too long and look too much like locust wings.

Sentinel Prime is a tad smaller than the ROTF leaders, and the amount of plastic used for his sword & shield is clearly alot less than what it would take to cast leader-sized Jetwing parts. Even leader Bumblebee, who has an additional Mechtech backpack, is actually a bit smaller to even it all out.

Trust me, I'd like it, too - but let's stay reasonable.

Agreed about the trailer. I thought they'd at least have used metallic plastic if they were too cheap for the paint. But this just seems to be pale flat grey.

    It's also way too short.

That's the big question for me, it will make or break it in my eyes.

Well, judging by the pics it looks like there's...

    - No elbow articulation (or if there is, it's very limited)
    - No knee articulation
    - No articulated hands/wrists
    - Possibly limited shoulder movement (depending on how close the "wings" are to the body)

It looks like he'll be able to move his legs at the waist, move his arms at the shoulders (although possibly limited by the wings), and turn his head back and forth. So not only have they (apparently) made a movie version of Powermaster Prime, they've also carried over his brick-former characteristics as well. Easy pass for me, I'd rather pay the extra $$$ for Jetwing Prime.

Knees could be possible, depending on the engineering. Could use the core robot's ankle joint as a knee.

I'm lookin hard and don't see anything that would hinder his pre existing knee joints. Although I do seem to remember a picture that showed plastic going down the legs like braces. Time will tell I suppose.

    Prime with trailer vs $80....

I will hav to see this in person, or at least better pics. I am not super into movie toys, and I think that much money could be better spent on a 3rd party trailer for classic prime.

this is 80 bucks. The other is 150$ with a prime mold that's already been released. I am leaning towards this, depending on how "kiddy" this is.

I have been looking at the Commander Optimus and it has 4 short wings, 4 jets and 2 guns and still sells at Commander price, and the figure looks quite movie accurate based on the previews except that in the movie, the wings are a slightly longer. I hope Hasbro can do voyager Jetwings Optimus and still sell it for Voyager price. Similarly, I hope Hasbro can do Leader Jetwings Optimus and still sell it at Leader price.
