+1. This is (one of) the problem(s) with this film series. Sure, you can play the Iron Man card, but the worst that series had was Tony making out with a girl on his bed, a scene that lasted around five seconds.

ROTF had Mikaela's face in Leo's crotch, Leo tazing himself with his pants down, Simmons in a thong, Wheelie humping Mikaela's leg, Alice straddling Sam (plus two upskirt shots), and about twenty other thinly-veiled sexual jokes and references. Not the stuff that should be in a movie made to sell toys.

That's what these movies ARE though. For Christ's sake, man, it's not like ALL OF THE MOVIE IS NONSTOP SEX JOKES JUST BECAUSE THE RATING SAYS "SOME SEXUALITY AND INNUENDO." From what we've heard, there is one scene of innuendo involving Ken Jeong that will probably end up funny because it's Ken Jeong. The whole last hour is "giant robots beating the $!&@ out of each other." Humor here and there is not going to ruin the movie or detract from the dark, serious tone. Do the random, brief comedic moments in "The Tragical History or Doctor Faustus" take away from the dark, serious tone of the whole play? NO.
In writing, many dark, serious stories include some moments of humor to keep the work from being too serious or depressing because they'd just be a drag otherwise. Take "The Dark Knight." Overly serious and dark, but it has humor. Ruined forever because of it? I think not.

So violence and warfare is a fine thing to expose children to, but GOD FORBID they see "some sexuality and innuendo?" They won't even understand the innuendo, and "some sexuality" is probably less offensive than most of what they'd see on TV anyway. It's not like they're gonna have half an hour of Sam boning Carly or anything.

This is getting blown WAY out of proportion, but then again, that's business as usual for discussions about the TF movies...:redface2:

    :lol  Agree with ya OP.

Can't say I'm surprised by the rating, any higher then most of the teens that want to see it would have to have an adult to buy their tickets :p

I'm fairly certain it won't have the same idiotic humor from ROTF, a few jokes and innuendo will be okay..as for the tight dresses, well at least THERE are dresses. So, all is good.. :popcorn

cool, but what it should have said was: for "intense prolonged sequences of sci-fi action violence, BAYHEM and destruction, and for language, some sexuality and innuendo."

Uh, you do remember when we were kids that we had toys made out of movies that almost received X ratings.

    RoboCop?

Rambo and the Forces of Freedom?

    Hello????

Having toys made out of completely inappropriate movies is NOTHING new.

Well those are toys made out of an inappropriate movie. This is an inappropriate movie made out of toys. Bit of a big difference there. I even talked to my mom about it the other day and she said "Is that that farting robot movie?" This from the woman that went to 15 different stores to find me a Metroplex for Christmas Thanks Mom (P.S. I'll never forgive you for throwing away the end of Galvatron's cannon :p ). ROTF soured it for a lot of non-fans too.

I had a rather disturbing dream last night where It was a love scene between Sam and Carly and they just went into their birthday suits (you know what I mean) And made love and what got me worried is that I did not want this scene in Dotm because well,it's the kind of stuff that makes a movie rated R but I got to admit my subconcious has creates a very acurate image of Rosie nude...hehe..;)

Meh, this "think of the children" is a bit of nonsense. When I was a kid I saw tons of non children movies. I came out allright.

Yeah, Ironman had a very short bed scene in the very beginning, but that movie was all action, and barely ANY cursing and my kids loved it. I think my little girl (6) might like Hellboy, because there's hardly any cursing in that film either, BUT there are many characters killed off throughout that movie and seeing death (with actors) bothers her to some extent. (not cartoons, nor CGI though... she LOVES Beast Wars and Beast Machines actually!) She liked the 1st (2007) TF movie and thought Bumblebee 'peeing' was funny. And the she kept seeing the trailer for RotF on TV and kept BEGGING up to take her... my wife and I went and saw it with my cousin and his wife... after it was over, my wife turned and said, our daughter won't be seeing THIS one in QUITE a while. So I'm hoping TF3 comes out a little better, because she's excited about this one too. As a side note I DID let her see most (if not all) of RotF on DVD when it came out (when the wifey was not at home) and about every 12 minutes it seemed I was saying - "We don't say that word 'B' (her name starts with B and is her nick)... we don't say that one either..." She even thought the woman turning into a transformer was funny despite the sexual innuendo there. As young as she is, she didn't "get" MANY of the adult jokes. But I think she liked the Twins, because she covered her mouth like "oh no!" when one of them was sucked into Devastator. The Twins really turned me off initially, but they've really grown on me especially with their fight against Devastator. Though I wish there was more build up plot or character-wise with Devastator, and wished more Autbots had joined in the fight against him. I will say this as a reverse correlation, as Hellboy was where everyone was serious except Hellboy, TF2RotF, everyone was over-animated and stupid, except Sam...after Sam's experience in the college he turned into the 'straight man' of the movie and all the idiots looked to him for guidance. But getting back on subject, they can have all the violence they want with the TFs on the big screen, just wish they'd leave the all the.... I'll say, "overt" sexual innuendo out really. Hey we all need a good looking girl to look at and for the main guy to swoon over, but there just isn't much of a line drawn now-a-days. Ok, look at it this way, the first "Alien" was rated R. (also the first R rate movie I ever saw) Yeah, we saw Signorney Weaver nearly nude, but NOT nude (in her underwear near the end and beginning). Yeah we had a little cursing, Olivander was killed by the Alien coming out of his chest (love that part), and plenty of guns a blazing and people getting killed, but they never tried to "wuv" one another. And that movie would probably be rated PG now-a-days. (gave me nitemares for weeks when I was but wee lad, back then I was about my daughters current age actually...).

    There's almost no difference.

And we'll know from the box office of DOTM whether "ROTF soured it for a lot of non-fans too."

That is an oxymoron to end or oxymorons. Men complaining about sex. History in the making if you ask me :lol

It's not about men complaining about sex in movies, it's the debate over the line on which we allow to let our kids learn about lewd or bad behavior (sexual or otherwise) at early ages. The commercial for RotF showed nothing of the sort...and was expertly put together and shown all over cable TV and during kids programming as well. I went against my wife's request and allowed my 5 or 6 year old girl see most, if not all, of the movie one afternoon on DVD. Luckily she 'knows' about sex, but I don't think she's (insert malicious chuckle here) figured out what it really is... she's only in kindegarten. I learned about what it really was in Second grade... long before my dad EVER mentioned it too me - when I was in fourth or fifth grade. But that's the case right there. When you HAVE kids, even if don't have kids NOW. Thus the sexual revolution of the 60's has nearly destroyed this country and the 'nuclear family' (but that's another debate) Who or how do you want your kids to learn about sex? Think about that. In a movie that's based on kids toys that say "3 and Up"? or from yourself when you think they've heard enough rumors from school friends?

And I'll admit RotF wasn't really "sexual" ... it had it's innuendos for sure, very obvious ones. Some really stupid ones, and some intense sexual-ish moments. (The girl "transformer" in the dorm room for example, but nothing really happened and she was actually attacking him). Just something to think about. I'll admit. RotF wasn't a 'bad' movie. It's grown on me actually, just wish we didn't have to feel so protective over what our kids see on TV or movies because they emmulate almost everything they see to a radical degree sometimes. I have a 3 year old also. And he's simply a little mimic, he sees someone kiss on TV and he tries to kiss his mother ON THE LIPS... it's cute, but also... not a good thing either at that age thinking it's ok to kiss on the lips, he gets sick enough just being at Day Care... And my 6 year old desires to be Veruca Salt and Black Arachnia (as a Predacon). --- ok, that's kind of funny!! :lol  (ending my 2ยข soapbox)

I have protective views on kids today. I won't go into it but I'll just say this, I walked past a group of kids before commenting on *ahem* the female's upper anatomy.

Speaking of groups - Power Rangers woot!
