It is an Autobot ship, said to have brought Sideswipe and the other new Autobots from ROTF, that has been under intensive repairs by the Wreckers.

I think it is used by Optimus and a few others to travel to the moon and salvage Sentinel Prime's body.

 

I figured that was an Autobot ship of some kind rather than an actual Transformer.

 

That looks a lot more like just an autobot ship than an actual transformer, especially not Silverbolt. It's probably what they use to get to the moon IMO.

 

Yea, if you look closely enough, you can see it vaguely resembles the Ark which crashed on the moon. Take a look at the images for the Cyberverse Ark playset to see what I mean.

I really don't get how ships play out in the Transformers films though, as the first 2 films showed Autobots and Decepticons arriving to Earth in a meteorite form, you know?

 

I was wondering whatever happened to Silverbolt. Years ago, we heard he was a chacter and James Avery was voicing him, but since then, we've seen all kinds of characters, but no Silverbolt? Am I missing something.

 

I always saw it as the Autobots only means of transportation was those meteorite forms if they needed to go into space, simply because they were so spread out from Cybertron by that point that they didn't know who had what ship (if any), which explains how Sideswipe's team had a ship and Prime's didn't.

The Decepticons flagship is crashed on a moon in our solar system, which means its a relatively quick trip to be launched from there to here since they can't get the Nemesis off the ground anymore.

They just use the ships on the moon to get to earth because, if you're taking over a planet, why not? It would be stupid to leave them there and you can transport alot more through a space bridge with them.

 

Just shows much like Star Trek where Starfleet and various races have their distinct starship designs DOTM shows the differences between Autobot and Decepticon ships.

Autobot ships are good guys hence the technological look while the Decepticons have spikes & razors everywhere with the biological look for terror.

Decepticon ships are there to show a full scale invasion not a terror attack like in ROTF.

There is at one point where optimus leaves the planet after the defection of SP maybe he comes back with help at the end. You got to think for a sec, there is alot we still dont know about. I just wish Bay would hint atleast if there will be some aerialbots or not.
