I just have one question? Is there something going on between Optimus prime and Arcee/do they like eachother?

My thought based mainly on seeing Optimus' interactions with Arcee and Bumblebee is Optimus is a father to his men - he maintains distance for some reason, but definitely has that fatherly bond with Arcee. Ratchet is more of an old friend. Bulkhead's the only one there isn't an obvious bond with, but that's mostly because they've not had a lot of interaction.

 

The only interaction Optimus ever had with Bulkhead was when he was telling him and Ratchet to knock it off in Darkness Rising, Part 2, and Optimus even told Bulkhead off for allowing the humans to accompany him at the end of Darkness Rising, Part 4.

As for Optimus and Arcee? Well, I like to think that there is something going on between them (just between you and me  ), but I'm gonna have to say that there isn't other than that father/daughter/son relationship he shares with both Arcee and Bumblebee. You can obviously tell when he lectured and praised Bumblebee at the end of "Masters & Students" along with the possibility of him also lecturing Arcee, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead towards the end of "Speed Metal." Whether he lectured them or not at the end remains a mystery. But I guess I can let fanfictions speak for themselves. Just my

I don't think a connection between Arcee and Optimus is completely out of left field. If we remember her bio description, it did mention that she has a "special bond" with Optimus Prime and is his "go-to gal". And from their interactions and dialogue on the show, Arcee definitely cares strongly for Optimus, enough to 'lay down her life' for him (as she stated in the recent ep. "Sick Mind"). Whilst her 'bond' with Optimus is not necessarily romantic in nature, she does seem to keep close to him, often physically as well as psychologically. At base, she is often seen standing by his side when they answer calls from Fowler; she's always quickest to follow in his line of thinking; and she takes his rules very strictly upon herself. She also often seems to display the most concern for him on the battlefield if he disappears or is injured. And then of course there was the tender moment between them as they lay dying in the Arctic, which I think was evidence of their 'bond' (though people have argued that this was simply a dying act of comfort between comrades). This all could be put down to a soldier's loyalty for her commander of course, but it does seem stronger in Arcee than in the others imo. Arcee is Optimus' best soldier on Earth and seems to fill the role of his lieutenant or second-in-command. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some backstory that explains Arcee's 'connection' to Optimus.

On Optimus' side tho', he seems to treat Arcee more or less equally to Bulkhead and BB, operating by their ranks. Can't say for certain if he relies on Arcee more than the other two or speaks with her more, but it would seem likely given that she is his best warrior. The fact that Optimus hasn't really displayed much outside of a commander's role toward his troops, coupled with Arcee's soldiering professionalism, is what suggest for now that Optimus and Arcee's relationship is one of commander and trusted soldier, at least on the surface. But like I said, there could be something in their history that links them in a deeper, emotional way.

Or who knows? Maybe they're just setting up Arcee to become Elita-One!   Wouldn't that be a surprise! Please don't kill me for the thought...

He also praised Bulkhead later in DR Pt. 5 ("Good work, Bulkhead.") for damaging equipment on the Decepticon warship. And he also told Bulkhead to stay with Ratchet at base in "Deus Ex Machina" (I think) when Bulkhead was concerned for Miko who was being held at the Greek museum.

There definitely is a connection between the two, but the way I see it, it's more of a father & daughter kind of thing. At the same time I also get a sister & brother vibe from her and Bumblebee.

Closest thing to a romantic kind of connection, so far, would be Arcee and Cliffjumper, but even that's a bit of a push. Though she clearly cared for him a lot. Would almost say her and Tailgate too, but we don't know enough about their relationship. He could have been more of a brother to her for all we know.

 

I'm pretty sure Arcee bats for the other team.

 

I usually find shipping to be an inoffensive hobby of the fandom. Ripe for fanfictions and very little else as it hardly infiltrates the canon propper.

Arcee is a soldier, a warrior, she is NOT a girlfriend, a plaything, or in the Autobot service to get a boybot.

NO!, there is NOT a romantic relationship between her and Prime, or any other bot.  

You want a romantic story?, buy a Harlequin novel.

 

though Harlequin only covers human/human relationships (or it used to anyways) my mom used to read those a lot.

 

Shippings in transformers don't bother me much, but shippings in other shows/series such as shippings in Evangelion and shippings in Gurren lagann in those series fanfictions do bother me

 

You don't HAVE to have some sort of romantic relationship in every cartoon. Just to throw it out there. Lets stop trying to pair everyone up here. "oh I think so and so will ultimately end up with so and so"

^This. To me Optimus and Arcee as a couple make me think of Papa Smurf and Smurfette. It's just wrong on so many levels.

 

What about Cliffy? He was a good friend and fellow soldier. Nothing more or less. Of course, she felt his loss, they were in the war together and fought side by side for eons.
I worry about the folks who keep wanting to have Arcee in a sexual relationship. Go out and have one of your own and leave the bots alone.
