Long time Radicon fan, first time contributor.

So I got Premium Leader Megatron back in 2008 as a gift. I didn't really like it then, and last weekend when I took it out again, I still didn't like it. Over the past few years I'd thought I'd get around to modding it, so while procrastinating and avoiding one of several possible assignments I have to do I got started:

    • Removed the arm pods and cut post to allow the 'fusion' cannon to attach onto the left arm
    • Totally gutted the wings, cut them to appear slightly more streamlined and screen accurate
    • Removed a lot of bulk from the backpack by cutting out one of the panels. This also allowed for the head ball joint to move forward and give some poseability
    • Cut out those annoying shoulder wheels
    • Removed the butt-thruster thing
    • Mace arm + spring = Hand cannon!

I also thought I might try to make my own fusion cannon for him, so I took the alt-mode nose and repurposed it. I stuck the end of the butt onto the end of it and now it's a fusion cannon much like his other incarnations. It'll eventually tab onto the forearm and with a bit of help may have an LED on the inside.

Now, as a WIP there is still a lot of work to be done. As you can tell, it's held together by rubber bands. I'll eventually glue and screw the back together. Other than that:

    • Create new hands with added digits and articulation points
    • Adding articulation to the elbows with another joint
    • Giving the waist the ability to rotate, while hopefully retaining the forward leaning ability
    • Extending the legs by adding proper feet, so that he can stand at least toe to toe with Prime
    • Using putty to fill in the massive gaps in what was once his backpack
    • Ball jointed head and a proper neck
    • Battle damage!

Aside from these I want to just tidy the figure up. I'll have to continue progress slowly as I've run out of materials on poor a Uni student's budget. I can't paint to save myself so I'm going to try and avoid it at all costs, but considering the state of the former wings...

So, this is my first post. I have a beat up second hand Voyager Prime somewhere which I took to with nothing but a lighter and a needle. Sitting on my desk is a Deluxe 2007 Movie Swindle, a Leader Brawl, a Deluxe Jolt and a few others which could be quite fun to play with.

Never really liked this mold myself, but may have to start messing around with my original too after seeing this. And I agree, the fusion cannon now looks worthy of being called that!

    Awesome Idea.
    !!!!Dod Gammit!!!
    Stole my idea.
No kidding, I am working on it right now.
    I'll post pics.
    Keep up the good work.
I guess great minds think alike.

After working out the Cannon, I disassembled it and dyed the parts black.

Holy Christ that thing is awesome! I was playing around with the arm pods and saw how it fits together - pretty snazzy. It solves the issue of how to attach it really well. Cool idea :)
Another friend here in the dorm is a physics student and he's interested in helping to make it look a lot more distinct, and not just big piece of former alt mode sticking to his arm, but without looking too much like yours. It's a bit of a pipedream at the moment to hope that it'll be able to split to reveal the cool railgun-like innards, then have one of the LED lights light up. All a dream at the moment...

Thanks for the support guys, I was really anxious to see how well these would be received. I just hope I find more time (and money =/) in the near future to put into the guy.
And yes, maybe some high heels so he can do a proper waltz with Prime :D
