Marvel Comics' Transformers #1 hits newsstands (with a cover date of September). This was the very first Transformers product made available... so Happy Anniversary, Transformers!





The only person whose noticed this so far is KalelPrime. I know it's Mothers Day but we can't forget Milestones like this.

I remember I think it was 7 Years ago back when i the biggest Transformers Noob and still didn't have any of the toys, YTV played like a whole crap load of Marathons of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, R.I.D, Armada and Energon (Yes i'l admit i used to think it was awesome) and to top it all off a showing of the 1986 Transformers Movie.

I know 27 isn't the biggest anniversery number but we can't forget a day like this. It's not really a day to go out and have a party for but still. I just thought some of you guys needed to know about this.

I hope in 2014 we have a big celebration once our beloved robot franchise is over 3 decades old.

Maybe reading the first issue of the comic or watching a few of their favorite episodes or something?

I probably won't, I don't really feel like it.

 

I read this today on FullMetalHero. I'm not really bothered about the 27th anniversary.

 

Happy birthday Transformers. Ah, it's already a year since I made the Happy Birthday thread a year ago...  

My favorite to this day? Beast Wars, Animated, and Prime!

All this does is make me feel old!

 

I've been doing almost everthing transformers related today. Now I'm off to play transformer video games!

 

All that plus Cybertron/Galaxy Force and the 2nd half of Armada for me.

 

Exactly. I don't think it's so much that people didn't remember, but it's just more of an odd number.

I believe Transformers toys were already on the market.

 

The toys came out in fall right? The comic came out in early summer with a cover month of September (that always confused me until I got into the industry) so why is that wrong? Elaborate a bit please.

 

I was aware of this. But I'm gonna actually do something really HUGE 30th anniversary. So saving it for that.

 

No as far as I remember.

I bought issue 1 of the comic the Saturday after it was released at Forbidden Planet on 12st NYC.I bought Bumblebee the same day.

And I already had Soundwave with Buzzsaw in my collection.

Now its a fact that Forbidden planet use to get NEW tf's before general toy stores.....but not that much early.

I believe the reason so many believe they were released in the fall is because thats when hasbro put a "push" behind the marketing.

 

28 year anniversary for me. Dad bought me a bumblejumper and red diaclone mirage at a Chinese booth at the local swapmeet.

 

Who is that one person who doesn't think a 27th Bday isn't a big deal?   Anyways, Happy 27th Bday TFs!
