Excellent paint apps in vehicle mode(by deluxe standards). Other than the shortened pipes, that truck looks first rate. Obviously it doesn't compare too well with Buster Prime, but what does. It's not exactly a fair comparison. Bot mode seems to use an unfortunate amount of cheap-looking pale grey plastic though. ... which makes you wonder why they wouldn't package it in truck mode. It's one of the most recognisable vehicle modes they have, and that's clearly where most of their paint budget went. It looks like a decent toy. The worst aspects are the shoulders, the arms, and the backpack. It also rememinds me how much I prefer open handsculpts to fists, but I can live with that. I'll probably get this to scale with TF1 Bonecrusher and Blackout and the rest.
^ Lol, that makes me want to get Blackout. I have Bonecrusher though, and Mixmaster, and lots of other guys that will work well with him. Hell, I think he'd look outstanding with the new Megatron. Megatron is a cab + trailer.
Hmm. Was planning on getting this guy, but now I'm not sure. The truck mode looks good enough, but something doesn't seem right about his robot mode - lots of grey plastic, and those yellow lights seem a bit out of place. Don't really care about the crap tech weapon. I may just wait for him to go on sale, which he probably will since stores are ordering whole cases of just him.
Hrm. This is another of those DOTM that I'll have to see in person before I decide whether to get him or not. There are rather a lot of those.
It looks decent. Mainly, I'm glad they didn't totally ignore paint apps on it. I'd buy it at a discount, but I'm not sure at anything above that - at least not until I see a video review.
Have to say that I'm liking this. It'll be a nice addition to my rather small movie collection. Can probably get him hooked up with some better weapons though.
Ummm...link? I wasn't even aware Takara was releasing their own version of this mold. Is it possible you're thinking of the Voyager figure that's getting a trailer and new gun for it's Takara release? Actually, it's about the same. While the chest on Deluxe Prime here are the actual alt-mode windows, the TF1 Voyager Prime's windows didn't add to the backpack kibble.
I agree. I am impressed with the fact that the windshield in truck mode and ends up being his chest in robot mode. The Voyager Prime doesn't even have that which is strange because you would figure that there is more room to work with on a larger figure. On the other hand the back looks awful. Even the Cyberverse Prime has a better back. I wonder if it is empty like that to accommodate a jetpack or whatnot.
Comes to Prime, I've got the Leader version, the voyager version, the scout/cyberverse version, and I'm planning on getting the legends and ultimate versions. Might as well get the Deluxe to.
For a deluxe he looks good. I bet a G1 Trailer would match up. The lack of paint is the biggest downfall of the figure. Easily fixed.
Oh nice. See this is perfect for me because I only collect deluxe and scouts (just too many other cool toys to buy to be spending a lot of money on voyagers and other larger sized figures) and this will give me a decently scaled Optimus for my movie collection. Very nice.
This looks pretty shitty if you ask me. The dotm line looks like it took a big step backwards from rotf.
