I never really got into Voltron, but I am digging these designs. I think they have a lot of personality. So I may check out the show for that.
Can't wait for this!!! I wonder if toys will hit about the same time or they will wait till the summer glut of movie toys is phased out. Between DOTM, Pirates 4, Thor and Cap toys the shelves will be full in the action figure aisle. Not to mention Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cars 2 are also likely to be on pegs just not competition for the same aisle as Voltron Force.
Another classic being ruined, simple as that. Just like they did with tf:a, they are trying to bring a tried and true formula forward 30 years hoping it will pay off and spark renewed interest. I dont feel that happening with this new show. I really think its going to bomb horribly
Except you have absolutely no idea what they're even doing with it. I would also like to point out that they aren't ruining anything. They aren't going back and changing the original series.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. For one, as said, you don't know what the show is going to be like at all, or if they'll even change anything, and TFA never changed the formula, and it was great anyway so I don't get your comparison.
Ugh, the lions? I miss the vehicle voltron. The Drules were a much better enemy than some king and the space batles between the Alliance and the Drules were much more exicting.. They even had likeable character for eneimes (not to mention that drule chick who was the sister of one of their high raking officers was a hotie).
Like the design style. Being a huge voltron fan I'm very excited but something tells me they're gonna kiddie it down way too much.
Here is a pic from the official Voltron Facebook/Twitter page...I'm hoping that this is just an early rendering & not the final product.
That's a tough one to judge. The details look great, (like the chest design) but the proportion totally don't jive with those of the lions. However the "Voltron perspective" could be futzing with that. Add to that it flat out looks poorly drawn, like not a render, but a drawing made it look like one, almost. I think it might be early art. The lions looked so refined and well-done it's hard to believe this is a 100% accurate depiction of the combined form.
My thoughts exactly Split, if you look at the Voltron Force promo poster even shadowed it looks better but then you have the classic post forming pose down & well...again is it rough art or the real deal?
I'm definitely liking this design better than the one we saw a while back intended to pimp a possible movie. It's less Bay-ish and more 80's primary color-ish. Here's hoping that the show is watchable...
I liked the lions separately but combined it looks really bad imo. Hope that's not gonna be the final look. It's got a voltron:teenage years vibe to it-not good.
