Well I truly think that they also for the first time they are gonna make these more in scale with each other, I'm sure they are looking to win back some that they have lost to 3rd party that fans like me do care about scale, maybe this prime is,and will be in scale with mp09. But if that is the plan and they do this with Megatron and the same with bigger seekers which is unlikely, but possible well hastak has won me over again.

 

My 1st edition hasbro masterpiece prime is close enough to perfect for me, and it only set me back $30, so I'll pass on any more primes in the masterpiece line, unless they are 1:1 scale.  

 

TakaTomy better make it PERFECT this time, otherwise I'll stick with my MP01 (never bothered going after a MP04 because I never saw MP01 as something perfect).

If it's going to pave the way for a new MP Megatron and include an Ultra Magnus armor in the engineering process, I'm in.

 

G2 Megatron in G1 colors would make an awesome masterpiece! I've never been a fan of gun megatron (the concept of a vain genocidal warlord changing into a tiny gun, helplessly under the control his trecherous air commander never sat right with me.. Even as a 6yr old)

 

Wow, when I saw the price of MP-10 my thought was "Yeah, It'll probably be a new Optimus Prime... Pff!"

Then I saw this...

 

Maybe it'll have real sapphires for eyes and an actual diamond for the matrix. Or how bout a button that makes it transform before our very eyes.

 

You know, earlier in this thread I was scornful of the idea of a new Optimus. But as I've been thinking about it, it could actually be quite cool. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement in the old MP Prime mold, particularly its truck mode. The shortness of the cab, the windshield overhang, the mangled side windows, the massive blue barely-disguised robot legs, etc.

Transformers design has advanced a lot since MP Prime was released. I gotta say, despite my initial kneejerk disgust at yet another Prime, if this ends up being a perfect-looking truck that turns into a perfect-looking, MP-Starscream-sized robot that comes with Roller and a trailer, well, that might just be worth it after all.

Hell, forget the "Masterpiece" thing, I could see people grabbing this to use as their Classics Prime, like some have done with Faith Leader. The size would be about right.

I'll reserve judgment and remain optimistic.

 

Exactly what Im starting to think now. I will definately use this as my classics prime if I get it. But $250? Probally not gonna happen unless it is truely AMAZING, which I doubt will happen.

Highly detailed trailer with lights/sounds
Transforming Roller.
Axe,Matrix,new light up gun,Transforming Megatron gun.

Maybe if these happened.


I can see a Magnus repaint with a new Trailer for $250 if they follow this plan

didnt want it to be prime, will wait and see before I keep or delete my pre-order.

I wish they would just make a modern voyager size G1 Prime with a trailer in the main Generations line.

 

Awesome I have been dying for a mp prime that would be in better scale with classics/newer masterpieces. Come on new mp tank Megatron!

 

completely agree. Don't care much for a trailer unless it's powermaster armor, but a new voyager g1 prime would be completely awesome. Much more desirable than a new masterpiece prime.

 

$250 for ANOTHER Prime? I don't care if the truck mode IS perfect that's just not happening on my end and that's especially true after throwing down on Roddy and Greenscream. I'll wait for the eventual Hasbro release that comes without all the extra BS I don't need.
