Tired my luck with classics re-surfacing at Rite Aids. Nothing at 10 in center city phila alone. Did find a preceptor at 5th and Passyunk. But nothing older than ROTF, saw a Jazz at 9th and Catherine though. And evidence of other HFTD and RTS deluxes but not classics or generations.

So how widespread is this Target clearance? East side of the state or has anyone seen it out here in Pgh? There are 3 Starscreams left at my local Target, still at $40, and I'd hate to miss him for $27. Then again I've seen some stuff go on clearance at one store, and it's still full priced on the shelves of another one a half hour away.

I saw some gold card Scouts clearanced at one Target some time ago - well before any clearances were widely reported. But I haven't seen any more gold card clearances at all.

There was a Scourge at the South Park Wal Mart!

    Yep.

I didn't buy it so it's still there.

Well, I guess the rumors are true, and Thundercracker's wave really isn't hitting retail. I'd think someone would have spotted him somewhere by now. Pretty soon we'll all be overloaded with DotM junk. (And considering the first and second movie make up about 90% of my collection, you know the stuff must look bad for me to call it "junk")

I hit the jackpot today with the Tracks/Jazz wave.

The Kohl's in Monaca, PA has at least 2 of each that I recognized. There was probably 5+ Jazz until I took one home. They were $13.50 out the door.

Personally, this is the worst drought ever in my area. I've basically given up going to stores and it's only gonna be worse cause of the upcoming flood of craptastic "junk" coming our way. That'll be many many more months of pegs clogged with stuff I have no interest in. Question to hasbro-why make figs when they're never even available in stores for us?

Second question to hasbro: why flood the stores with more crap when the old crap that no one cared about still hangs on the pegs at every walmart, target, kmart, etc...

I'd actually really like an answer to that question. It pains me.

You mean, you still don't want a Tuner Skids and Mudflap?

Seriously though. It'd be another thing if I was actually looking forward to the DotM stuff, but I'm not really at all. I hate what they've done to the movie line, from the dumbed down transformations, to the giant Mechtech crap and shitty paint jobs.

I gave the movie stuff a fair chance when the first one came out. I bought quite a few figures and really wanted to like it. Yeah, it didn't really work out. I'm not making this a movie hating post or anything, it's just that the movies are not the "transformers" stories, toys, or characterizations that I want out of the fiction.

What really cuts to the bone though, is that now, the movie stuff is most likely pushing the G1 product out of reach/production/...existence? -for the time being anyway.

I feel the same way. I bought a ton from the 1st movie a lot less for the 2nd, and this one I am only planning on getting 3-5 figures. I am just over the movie figures.

It is really irritating that almost all the Generations RTS toys I wanted I had to buy online because stores just do not have them.

Now see, I bought a ton from the first two movies. I really did dig the toys, and they're what got me back into collecting, and there was quite a few good toys. But these news ones...I dunno. I think Sentinel, Shockwave, and maybe the Japanese Jetwing Prime are the only ones I'm considering. I'm not sold on Leader Ironhide yet. I don't want to turn this into a toy discussion thread, but I mean, come on. There were far better candidates for Leader class in my opinion.

They put out whatever sells the most. From what I've heard movie toys has sold way way more than anything else, so they're going to put priority on those.

Yeah, unfortunately kids and parents just buy the movie stuff cause they're transformers and they don't know any better. The sad part is that we have to suffer cause of them.

Yeah, because 25-year old rehashes are all the rage with kids nowadays...

Sightings- between Target and Wal Mart, saw a lot of Generations Cliffjumper, Dirge, Blurr, Megatron and Soundwaves. Not much else of interest.

I think in 20 the movie stuff will be worth something cause those kids will be in their 30's and will want the toys they had. And there are a few cool movie toys that's just my opinion

Agreed. Modern haters will be the ones scrambling for what they passed on in the Great 2011 Toy Famine.
At least HtS had Warpath this morning, and now it's been spotted at retail. All the Classics buffs can get one more spot of happiness before the rest of us pounce on the 5/16 release.

    And...bought!
Purchased Warpath as soon as I read then news earlier on another site!

Wish I could say this concludes my list for the year but unfortunately I still need 2 more Scourge figures.

So I can't say cant flip retail and Hasbro off completely just yet but with the rumored cancellation of Rumble and no other Generations/RTS figures on the horizon being reported I'm almost there!
