Its probably one of the top two or top three episodes of Prime in my book.

Also its probably one of the darker episodes of Prime. Previously, most of the deaths were simple and clean. It didn't seem as though even the Decepticons took too much enjoyment with causing death. But this one was different and this is probably because of the characer of Airachnid.

Airachnid has a personality that reminds me of characters from films such as Silence of the Lambs, Seven, Red Dragon and tv shows such as Criminal Minds. Characters such as Megatron in Prime and Skyquake, though we consider them evil have at least some moral fiber. Characters such as Starscream are motivated by selfishness and self gain. Airachnid on the other hand seems to just enjoy inflicting harm on others, she's motivated by sheer malice. And that added to the suspense in the show.

Her enjoyment in the torture of various characters. Her wish to kill and collect pieces of others as trophies. Her taunting of Jack, "I'll show you where you'll hang your head" makes it seem as though she enjoys the fear it brings to people. It makes her feel powerful. These in my opinion point to this.

She also seemed to enjoy Arcee's fear during the battle, her fear for Jack.

With her there, this show could become interesting but pretty dark.

Okay maybe not exactly like Dexter I was going for the serial killer pyschopath aspect....Well actually i think Airachnid is more like a Predator, i mean the episode was called Predatory, that and the "trophies".

I think you're right with the serial killer, psychopath aspect. In various points in the show she could have killed Arcee after webbing her. But the only thing she could think of was hurting those around her and hunting Jack. A predator in my opinion would be cold and logical. She could have just shot both of then dead. A big game hunter would probably hunt some suitable prey, faster or more powerful. Something far more threatening than a tiny human. She seems more of a sadist, enjoying people suffer.

Why does she collect trophies? Why does she enjoy bringing up the past when she fought Arcee? I think its because she likes to reminisce on her kills.

    Wow

This was probably one of the best episodes. Nice look in the history of Arcee, and her little curse of loosing her partners... And I just love the Airachnid! This is the type of evil character this show was missing... well, it was all said above; psychotic predator. Loving it!

Oh don't worry. You'll only be Johnator of Prime if you claim it was ultra mega shit without even watching it.

not as good as last weeks, but i loved the tense atmosphere; "hello Jack" made me jump. Jack blowing up the ship was quite cool

I wouldn't be surprised; there's a cartoon here in the UK called "peppa pig" that's aimed for toddlers, in one episode the they were in a car and "peppa" wasn't wearing a seatbelt...so many people complained that it was even featured in the news.... :/

I think you're asking a bit too much of the show right now. It a kids' show, so they can't really have a full-on torture scene. I think what they did was already pushing it, as shown by the fact that hey didn't have Arcee scream in pain when her face got burned. Did you really expect them to have Airachnid burning/cutting/electrocuting Tailgate while both he and Arcee scream for mercy?

Also, I think the look on Arcee's face just before the Autobots came to rescue her was enough to show how much it affected her (A little good animation can go a long way.). It happened a long time ago, so the audience didn't really need to see her "Cope" with it until now.

Great episode. Jack showed why he's the fucking boss, Arcee got some good character developement, and Airachnid was okay. Bummed she has two legs, that just makes her awesome spider-robot-mode just an alt mode. Speaking of which, I look forward to seeing what kind of vehicle she turns into. I still think somebody was right when they suggested a helicopter.

Shame that, as expected since we saw Wheeljack and Skyquake, the character's all sport Earth-kibble even on Cybertron. Tailgate looked like a recoloured Cliffjumper. (also, yahoo we see him again, with Bumblebee no less)

Only sort of defeated by him repeatedly jumping onto Arcee and riding off into the groundbridge without one every single week. :lol

One of the best episodes. Awesome action choreography. Love Arcee's martial arts fighting style. CGI was top-notch for a TV series, especially the backgrounds. Motion capture was splendid. Love the script and LOVE Airachnid! :thumbs2:

good episode, would have been good if Cliffjumper had just at least had one line telling Arcee she'd be allright or something, seemed really weird Bumblebee and Cliffjumper walking away with her and not saying a word.

Jack was a proper idiot early on in this ep though. It annoyed me so much he walked back when Arcee told him expressively not to. I thought he was smarter than that.

I thought the silence it added a lot to the grim tone of the scene. If Cliffjumper said something it would've spoiled the mood, and fucked up her whole "I couldn't save my partner!" line.

He's still a kid, and still protective of Arcee. Everybody has their lapses in judgement, it's part of being a person.

Really? There's plenty of time to talk later. Right now, priority is getting Arcee safe sounds like a pretty reasonable argument.

The reason Cliffjumper didn't have a line is probably they can't just hire The Rock back for a line....

Anyway, this was a dark episode. We have more insights on Arcee's character and on how dark the Great War can go. Airachnid is one creepy evil bitch, voiced perfectly by Gina Torres. While she doesn't have any alternate mode yet, the half spider look just adds to the creepy level. I hope to see more of her...

Still, this episode was not as fun as the previous ones. I have no idea why, but probably because there's only three characters in this episode and the lack of interactions? Or is it too dark? No idea. It is still a good episode though

It is also funny to see Peter Parker taking on a Spider Transformer ^^

This was a pitch perfect horror episode: Gina Torres is very versatile with her voice, able to sounds comic and loving, or dead serious. Then with Airachnid she gives it this inflection that has an almost Hannibal Lector like quality: calm and collected, even formal and yet it sounds so very sinister.

Arcee's fighting was also a great highlight, very BGC, and very cool.

Top marks. The show is attracting some solid voice talent; I like :D

The camera work and animation in this week's episode are outstanding. I really hope they can get the kids some exosuits soon. Jack sure could have used a few more tools in his kit this week and there can't be an axe lying around for Miko ALL the time. :)

1.) Who else started humming Jablonsky’s “Arrival to Earth” when that ship first crash landed? ;)
    2.) Yay for flashbacks!
3.) Really digging Airachnid’s design. Her walk/movement is rather creepy.
    4.) Cat-fight! YES! :D
5.) Was totally expecting an “Alien” skull on Airachnid’s trophy wall, both as a joke to myself, and in actual seriousness, for the animators to give us a little sci-fi nod.
6.) I love the really quick back-and-forth between the built-in weapons. Really cool.
7.) Wow. Stupid Jack, pulling a Hot Rod. “I’ll just go and help the giant robot who’s way better at fighting than me! There’s no way that this could backfire!”
8.) I kind of get goosebumps when Arcee gets all emotional and shouting.
9.) Huh. 13 minutes in and there’s only two Transformers in it (four, if you count Tailgate and the Eradicons).
10.) Oh, spoke too soon. Cliffjumper cameo FTW!
11.) Wow, the subtle eye movements in this episode are phenomenal! The very slight side movements indicating fear and anxiety. Beautiful.
12.) This is like a horror movie. I love it. :bay
    13.) Baysplosions. :bay
    14.) Arcee sure can kick.
    15.) Sunrise. :bay

What a really fun episode. If I had to award any negative points, though, it would be for a lack of other Transformer characters. Oh well. I’m sure we’ll get plenty of that in future episodes. :)

Actually I hear the Transformers in the show are rather unpopular, so they've all been scrapped. The show is going to be only Jack, Miko and Raf from now on. It's going to be about adjusting to high school life knowing they are going to see massive robots later.

No way, I want more individual character studies.
