Wow $60 for a scout that was supposed to see mass release. I feel much better ruining a spare sideswipe with some gray and black paint and a Stockade head now.

Here's an even simpler example: RTS Voyagers. If you put together one case each of Series 1 and Series 2, you get the following:

    2x Grappel
    2x Deep Dive
    3x Lugnut
    1x Strafe

Was the plan to eventually release Series 3, with Strafe reappearing, or was he always supposed to be a one-case wonder? Maybe it was because he was a repaint. But then, that doesn't explain Deep Dive.

In other news, within the past two to three weeks, I saw ROTF Ravage suddenly appear on the pegs at two different TRUs, along with ROTF Sideswipe. Not Sidearm Sideswipe. Not Sea Attack Ravage. The ones in the first ROTF case assortments. What dark corners of the distribution center are they pulling these from?

I figure I'll just throw my 2 cents in about this.

I'm not pissed about this. At all. Why? Because I saw it coming. A month before movie toys hits and I still can't find RTS Deluxe Wave 2 in local stores, pretty much means I shouldn't be getting my hopes about Voyagers, later Generations waves, Scouts, and Legends. It's happened before, and whatever follows DOTM will get cut short when whatever huge selling TF line comes out next.

I'm just going to hope that TJ Maxx gets in the ones that I want, or I'll try and get a UK or Canadian board member to help me out. Or, I'll just do without.

This isn't Animated. One new animated mold didn't hit the states. Did anyone ever actually see carded versions of the deluxe recolors that where planned?

I will say that some of the fault lies with retailers, for not knowing when to let certain product stop collecting dust and get marked down to move it out for new stuff. Even with assloads of Dark of the Moon hitting, I can't help but wonder where the 6 pregnant pegs of HftD waves will go.

I work for a pretty big retail craft chain (usually the number 1 or 2 store in the company) on the east coast, and whenever I have piles of merchandise in my department that isn't moving, I can have my manager call the buyer of my merchandise to get him to authorize markdowns done at just my store's level. Not huge markdowns, but at least enough to break even or make a small profit. And I work for a company that somehow actually MADE a profit during this recession when everyone was taking hits or barely breaking even.

Why a HUGE company like Wal-Mart or Toys R Us can't do this, to me, is baffling. Some things just don't sell as well in certain places, and sometimes you just have to take the risk and bite the bullet and try and break even instead of wasting space. And even if we only break even on all the markdowns, no one really complains when whatever takes the place is flying off the shelves and has to be reordered and restocked every 3 days as opposed to nothing moving for months on end.

    Anyway. That's my rant!

you make much sense oh wise sage. thats what retailers gotta do man. Even if they just take a break even or a bit of a loss best to mark em down and get em out so ya not keepin stale old crap on shelves. then again hasbro shoulda KNOWN that those hunt for the decepticon movie figs wouldnt budge. Its hasbros fault too not just retailers.

Wrong. Plenty of Universe figures rereleased from previous lines to prove it.

If any people really wanted to try to solve this problem instead of complaining, they should write letters and communications to Target, Walmart, Toys R Us and Kmart and ask them to order more Transformers. It is really these corporations that determine whether a Transformer toy will be widely available or not. Hasbro would not normally produce so many toys to begin with. It is simply a small number of fans that have very high demands and expectations that create this uneasy environment.

For people expecting these to show up at TJMaxx eventually keep this in mind.

End-of-line items that eventually popped up at TJMaxx or other places. . .

    ROTF Mudflap (movie toy)
    ROTF Red Rampage/Evac (movie toy)
    TFTM Gunbarrel/Reverb/Backtrack (movie exclusive)

End-of-line figures that never popped up again
    Universe Legends Cosmos/Rodimus/Warpath/Wheelie (filler line)
    Universe Ratchet/Hotshot (filler line)

Which category are you going to place your bets for Windcharger on? Isn't HFTD/RTS a filler movie line? :p

AGREED. We need to let them know that this is a problem. Cons are a great place to interact with people who might have a chance to Get Shit Done.

(Just don't ambush someone all foaming at the mouth or anything.)

    Sorry, but LOL.

    Oh wait, I'm not sorry.

    ...how?

Transformers toy lines do not work that way. Christ, they've indefinitely retired the Scout price-point, and even if they hadn't, Hasbro doesn't just 'repackage'. They're already out in packages, so they're as good as gone, even if it's sold off to places in China or god knows where in Asia. If they were re-released, it'd be in entirely different color-schemes.

Come on, guys, we've been following the brand this long, most of us know how the game's played by now.

Wait. Remember how BBST Had (or has) Reverb, Gunbarrel, and that other one from TFTM? Maybe they'll do the same.

So... how long til we get a repaint of the Windcharger mold? :D
I personally don't care who the character is, just as long I get some form of this mold into my collection.

Never said they had to like it, just to not be disappointed when their pipe dream of a re-issue of a toy that is already packaged up in China and ready for release right now doesn't happen.

Depends: best you can hope for is that Wal-Mart decides to yet again revive the Scout two-packs from Revenge of the Fallen, 'cause Scouts are officially retired as a general retail price-point, and they're too big to work as Cyberverse Commanders, so the odds aren't good.

Pretty much the best post in this whole thread: Slightly baffled, but not enraged, spells out the exact situation, makes a reasonable proposal but is realistic enough to realize it probably can't happen.

You get a Gold Star, Stune.

It's happened before. We've seen countless Cybertron scouts in Universe or even Generations style packaging show up at BigLots and Dollar stores. No reason these can't be released as Cyberverse Commanders. Wouldn't be out of place either since we're getting Powerglide in that line.
