Any one who did "The Ring" has to be a very talented horror writer. So do you think Bay hired him for this reason?

On MSN.com the ring was voted one of the top ten scariest movie of all time

 

It's a Bay film so probably not very dark. He loves him some strong lights, even Armageddon had a pretty darn illuminated space cave.

 

How dark is it? 12.

 

It could be pretty dark hence the writer's specialty in horror and thriller films, but Bay won't let it get too dark.

 

Wasn't it a "reimaging" of the Japanese Ringu?

 

Dunno. And some of those other films sound neat, too.

foreal. i can just imagine a fight with ironhide and the dreads and you can just see innocent people getting blown up/squished by both him and the dreads. i bet that's what gonna happen.

Lol I would rather not. I mean not Ironhide. He knows how to flippy trick over innocent humans on the ground (hence the whole slow mo flippy trick in TF1.)

 

Considering that there was a rumor floating around that

, coupled with the full-on invasion shown in the SuperBowl commercial, I think it's a pretty safe bet this is going to be darker than the first two.

 

It's tough to say.

Ehren Kruger has a lot horror film writing under his belt which could bring some interesting things to the film. The problem is that writers are almost at the bottom of the movie making totem pole. Far too many people that can squish even the best ideas a writer can dream up.

Plus you have the wee problem of even if he did write something nice and dark they are just going to go with some sort of happy good guy ending because Hollywood don't think people who go to the movies over the summer can handle any other ending. Look at how a film like Hancock started off with some pretty cool ideas only to become a mess of a family comedy for that happy ending.

 

I think it'll be darker than TF1 and ROTF, but I doubt it'll be too dark.

 

It would be pretty awesome if Dark of the Moon was really dark/serious. But I sorta doubt it. This is Bay we're talking about, not Christopher Nolan.

 

i still hope that DOTM ends with all the transformers dead, a win for the autobots, but they all die.
