Got this figure yesterday, added a gun metal type silver and military brown/green for the highlights. acrylic paints. i like how it came out, and the fact that its supposed to look rusted and worn. i may change 1 or 2 small details but its otherwise finished.
Looks good for a 1st repaint. He's a tough figure to figure out the transformation too. Mine didn't come with a manual.
i wasnt expecting mine to come with a manual but he did. i didnt read it though, took me 2 attempts to figure out how the arms fit in vehicle mode.
i really like it alot. easily my fave megatron out of any of the movie megs`. ive been 50/50 about many of the DOTM toys, but even though megs is a small voyager (hes about the same size as ROTF lockdown with his knees bent) i love how he feels and i can get some decent poses from him. double jointed knees are always a win! plus the fantastic trailer articulation in vehicle mode is awesome!
REALLY, Double joint Knees? That RIGHT THERE is worth it. But i can bring my cheap A$$ to pay more that Retail for it.
oh i tell a lie sorry! not double jointed, but the way they are engineered you can have him in a pretty decent kneeling position, just flip the feet a bit (which works like his feet flat on the ground) just think about that famous scene in platoon where the guy is left behind and kneeling reaching up for the helicoptor as the vietcong are coming for him, you can put megs in that pose.
I quite buying 'Cons basically years ago, but this one is almost worth buying just to get custom painted to look really sharp in altmode. This one here is another fine example!
i think the biggest problem with the DOTM line is their paint jobs, very plain, some look like theyre not even painted (see sideswipe) its sad because when they are painted they look awesome! i think ill be painting all the ones i get.
A lot of the DOTM toys are very plain looking. I do like this Megs though! Much better with the paint apps. So much sculpted detail in these things, its a shame they lack paint.
I don't know which I like better, your attention to detail & how well you carried this out -or- the lace curtains behind Megatron... Seriously, this looks great & I look forward to seeing more work out of you in the future!
