Only movie Zack Snyder movie I ever liked was 300, wile I like Nolen I think his movies are a bit over-hyped. I like Inception and Dark Knight but I don't like them the way most do.
As much as I like Nolan, the only movies of his I really love (like Tim Burton) involve Batman. Snyder, just meh. Watchmen was alright, and I have high hopes for Superman. Out of the two though...? Nolan.
Nolan hands down Snyder seems kinda gimmicky to me. Nolan's totally about thought provoking solid entertainment
Nolan can write, and Zacky can direct (as previously said.). I guess I like substance over just eye-candy. Nolan, overall. Watchmen was awesome, and better than Inception. It's almost better than The Dark knight but, TDK wins by a Joker. Internet takes Chris too damn seriously.
I like Nolan's films better overall, but I think Inception and his Batman films are overrated, intellectual blackmail ("If you don't like it, you're stupid").
Picked 'Don't Care' as it seemed the nearest thing to a 'no preference' option - I like the work of both.
Nolan by far. His storytelling is far more solid (though not perfect mind you), he knows how to get good performances out of his actors and he knows how to shoot a movie. Most of his films are excellent as well. But I can see why people have problems with his flicks, and he doesn't really seem like that much of a visual director, not in the same way that Snyder is. But damn Nolan knows how to use a camera. I really love Zack Snyder's visual style. It kicks all kinds of ass, and you know that the man pays a LOT of attention to it, though he could do less with the slow mo. But other than that...Eeeeh. You can tell that he focuses more on visuals and action and that he's not really a story teller. I haven't seen Sucker Punch yet, but this was already obvious from Watchmen, which while being shot very faithfully, was otherwise a rather failed adaption with a very flawed narrative. Still, I'm curious as to what he will do with Superman, more so because it's his last big chance after the bombs that were Watchmen, Guardians of Ga'Hoole and (with the way it is now) Suckerpunch. And hell, I wouldn't mind him doing the next Transformers either, simply because of how awesome of a visual director he is.
I almost clicked 'don't care'. I like them both. While Snyders 300 and Watchmen were both pretty good, they still had flaws. Nolans Batman Begins and Dark Knight are also good, and also have flaws. Even Inception, which I enjoyed immensely isn't perfect. But then I remembered The Prestige, and its Nolan all the way.
While I like a couple of Nolan's films, I've liked all of Snyder's films. Except for Legends of the Guardians. But I don't really want to see that one either way. Snyder certainly has his ups and downs in a few spots, but I think I prefer him just because his filming style is so creative compared to a lot of others. Nolan's style is good as well, but I just love how Snyder is able to take his incredibly unique style, bring it to a comic as famous as Watchmen, and still made it work really well. He takes risks, and I hope he does the same for Superman.
