Wonder if Gogdog was reminded of this?

    Also, MECH: Armored Strike Kommand?

Also also, I dunno, the Eradicons held their ground pretty well to me. Sure, they were knocked down in the initial charge, but they did get up with someone knocking Prime out and presumably fought the remaining Autobots to a stand still for like, 5 minutes before being overwhelmed. Naturally, I wouldn't want them to be Federized either, but it wasn't that bad... this time.

Miko did use an axe against Soundwave tentacles.

When Mrs. Rigas and myself were watching this we totally got the guy from Avatar vibes from Silas.

I did laugh when Miko got the axe and Jack got the fire extinguisher, got a strange look from my wife. Miko used an Axe against Soundwave's tentacles in the mini.

I did see someone in the thread awhile back that said Clancy Brown voicing Silas did take them out of the episode. But it was because they knew him as the voice of Mr Crabs from Sponge bob.

I'm surprised the issue of Arcee murdering humans was kind of glossed over. Especially given Vangelus is all about brandishing transformers as homicidal maniacs.

Well, there is a bit of a difference between "Arcee murdering humans" and "Arcee defending a moving truck carrying a WMD and a car crashed during an assault, exploding and killing the attackers inside."

Maybe murder is the wrong word. But still, Optimus said to use minimal force, and Arcee comes barreling out of the trailer and just goes all kill crazy on the MECH guys. She's clearly disturbed.

I guess back in the pilot when she said she'd hunt Jack down and kill him, she wasn't kidding. She probably has a crawl space somewhere full of bodies. That's probably why she couldn't let Jack go...She has plans for him.

I, for one, am strongly in favour of MECH taking the Stealth Force/VENOM route to weapons parity. It's a cool visual, and differentiates them significantly from the Cypertronians in terms of combat style. Plus, it lets them scale up to Powermaster/Headmaster style human controlled robots in later seasons, basically building in a direction to grow their threat to the main cast.

I know that they are really trying to play up Optimus Prime's gravitas in this series, but the fact that he hardly (if ever) uses contractions when he speaks really contributes to the stiltedness of his lines. It really highlights the contrast to G1 Prime, both on the page (a Prime that doesn't party vs. one that dunks on his fellow 'bots on a presumably giant basketball court) and in the vocal performance (being serious here all the time vs. sometimes slipping to the Ironhide drawl).

Clancy Brown notably is also the voice of Destro on GI Joe Renegades. He plays him with a slight Scottish lilt. He was also the head prison guard in The Shawshank Redemption.

There've been at least three moments during the entire series I've just thought were lazily written. The first was during the miniseries when while Prime climbed up the face of the cliff while Megatron just stood and waited at the top the whole time WITHOUT SHOOTING AT HIM. Obi-wan would have words to say about the "high ground." The second was in the Scraplets episode and the much discussed fire extinguisher. And lastly would be in this episode where they teleported the kids aboard the train for no good reason at all, except to manufacture more drama when Prime had to stop the train.

Oh, and as a funny side, in the Clone Wars show, Ahsoka used to call Anakin "Sky guy." Yeah, it was lame and they haven't had her do it in a while.

I thought the epsiode of TFP was good and that I dig the human enemy element that I kinda agree with Vangelus to see these three factions fight each other. But most of the points that were brought out were very good and I enjoy listen to what was being discussed.

Yeah, it would be great to see Mech stay as a separate threat from the Decepticons, and even take on the Decepticons. An episode that didn't have any Autobots at all, and instead had the Decepticons fighting off Mech would be neat. I originally figured Mech would inevitably lead to human-controlled robots, but something more M.A.S.K. inspired would be cool to see as well.

The Eradicons are probably something similar to the generic soldier in any given Power Rangers show: tough in the first few episodes in order to give the heroes a simple challenge, and then cannon fodder for the rest of the season before the real threat arrives (while still being able to take down the heroes when the plot needs it).

And just for kicks, here's a small example of what the Battle Droids are like/go through in a typical episode of the Clone Wars: YouTube - Star Wars The Clone Wars (Stupid droids)
