I agree with you (on the bolded statement, and "Soundwave" instead of "Shockwave", which I knew is what you meant anyways). I'm glad that they at least found a way to include Starscream and Soundwave in the episode (unlike "Scrapheap", which - as the plot dictated - did not require them). But I'm still waiting for the episode when both Soundwave and 'Screamer get to engage in some actual battle. For the past few episodes - as with this one - all we've really seen those two do is stand around on the Nemesis or wherever they happen to be, and plot their plan-of-attack and talk about how they might do something. And then send their lackies to do the fighting. Yes, strategically it's a sound idea. But from an "I-want-some-awesome-robot-action-and-I-want-to-see-the-awesome-characters-do-it-too"-side of things, it's boring. It's like that one video from ItsJustSomeRandomGuy on YouTube making fun of Lex Luthor. "And finally, the explaining of the plan which I plotted after I thought of it." I want to see those two involved in some action, darn it! I mean, the intro displays a mere morsel of what Starscream is capable of. In the blink of an eye he sprints forward, leaps in the air, transforms in mid-jump and fires a ****load of missiles towards Optimus. And that was all of 2.3 seconds. Imagine a 2-3 minute battle!!! I'm guessing Soundwave would be cool too. That's not to say that I didn't like their presence in the last few episodes. I always enjoy them, no matter what they do. I just hope that they do more in the future. :)  Heck, even if it's just "show up, fight, lose, retreat", it's still better than "send the troops, they fight, they lose, grumble".

Have you ever considered that maybe, oh I dunno, there's been more than one war on Cybertron?

It doesn't contrict anything. Optimus and Megatron fought side-by-side, then Megatron joined the Decepticons, and then started the great war that devastated the planet.

Perhaps Prime fought alongside Megs as a security officer of some sort? Or maybe by "fought" he just means that they went through a lot together? idunno.

As I stated in the World Building thread.

-Before plunging Cybertron to the Great War Megatron preached an ideology similar to the human terrorist Silas. What we know of Silas are these. Utter disregard for civilian casualties, bringing about a new world order, and using the most advanced and innovative technology to win.
-In episode 2 Arcee did mention terrible Decepticon experiments during the Great War.
-In episode 6 Starscream mentioned Megatron led the Decepticon uprising.

'Clone Wars' is for kids and it's miles above this show in terms of story and writing.

Ratchet has a whole new appreciation to Miko, Jack, and Raff. Ever since Raff helped fix the computers Ratchet stopped calling them useless.

Do you think that MECH and the Decepticons joining forces, like in ROTF when the US and Great Britian militaries joining forces with the Autobots?

To quote a Spanish friend of mine: "QUE?!"

Clone Wars always seemed a little lacking (dare I say hackneyed) to the point where it was 50 good and 50 bad (simply because the dialogue was atrocious and it seemed like bits of it were rushed).

For Prime, its off to a great start, at least when compared to the pinnacle of TF story telling BW (personally, I found the first 12 or so eps of BW to be kinda... stupid). If they can manage to take all the stuff they've introduced us to and form into a good, compelling story arc 3/4 into the season (no doubt they will given the love they've shown for the franchise in interviews) I don't think we have anything to worry about. :thumbs2:

It's funny considering Steven Melching writes for both Clone Wars and Prime.

Like I said, Clone Wars isn't bad, it just comes off as bland at times. At this early a stage, its okay for Prime to have a couple of bad eps (I personally didn't think they were bad, but I can understand how some might be in that line of thinking)

My favorite part of episode is when the Arcee, BB, Bulkhead, and Optimus Prime transfered the DINGUS unit to the train. How can Arcee lift that unit its bigger and heavier than she is? She lifted it like it was nothing. I love seeing Optimus have his trailer in the episode. Will he use it in future episodes?

For the short term. The Cons could use them as cannon fodder, and MECH could be studying them to built a anti-TF weapon.

:lol  Haven't you heard? We're in a recession...Cutbacks everywhere, including the government!!

As a long time SW fan too, Clone Wars has been a series I couldn't stand watching for more than a few minutes at a time..it's been boring and the VA's just don't seem (at least to me) to have the emotion, the "umppth" to bring the characters to life.
The CG is good and sometimes the stories are fairly good, but IMHO not as good as TFPrime. Interesting to note that Steven Melching writes for both! :thumb

To be fair, TFP's VAs can come across flat sometimes (mainly Optimus and Fowler), but its still a new show, and its sure to improve.

True, true, the second season of CW was awful but it is so much better. I wouldn't say Prime is flat, he's just boring. I think the main thing about him that annoys the crap out of me is the voice doesn't fit the face. Bay said Welker was too old sounding to play Megs, well Prime's voice sounds like a 900 year old man in a 30 year old body. Maybe it's the lack of a nose (still, why the eff are there no noses???) but 2+2=7 with this version of Prime.

    Fowler is just effing useless.

I wouldn't say "better", but Clone Wars is as at least interesting now.

Prime's (as in Optimus) had some notable moments (Darkness Rising Part 4 and the Skyquake episode come to mind, and I can honestly say as a masculine male that that moment with him and Arcee in the Arctic was CUUUTE!) but overall he is kind of boring. The writers just need to let him show a little more emotion. Him sounding old I can deal with. Dudes been through a lot.

The nose thing works for everyone BUT Optimus. It would look better if his face were narrower and his crest (or whatever) were lowered a bit, but I can live with it.

Fowler useless? Did you see him dogfighting with Skyquake and the deployer? Or what about him manhandling the MECH goon? Fowler's a badass, plain and simple.

Rachet seems to have warmed up to the kids, and it really shows in this episode.
