Damn it! I was hoping for Black Shadow and a Windcharger/Tailgate two-pack like what we're getting for Frenzy and Rumble. Hopefully we do see some exclusives.

Hasbro said at Toyfair that Generations will continue this year, so where are you getting this? We wouldn't know if they've changed their minds until Botcon.

We've already gotten the news that Generations will continue throughout 2011, and we've seen the instructions of potentially upcoming toys with alternate head (Gears/Kup)...UNITED may be ending, but perhaps that same line with another name will be coming.

Yeah, seconded. Seems like more than half the fandom doesn't pay attention to the news from the cons at all if there aren't any pretty pictures to go with them.

Frankly, from what I'm reading in this thread, people need to realize that Takara's plans for United =/= Hasbro's plans for Generations. We've already got confirmation from Hasbro that Generations will be continuing through the rest of the year & we've seen remolds for Kup, Laser Optimus Prime, Tomahawk, Terradive, Thunderwing, Wreck-Gar (seen two different heads for him!), Perceptor, Scourge, Jazz and Lugnut. Not to mention Warpath is wave 8 and I'm sure he'll show off a remold too. Also, even with all these remolds coming I'd be surprised if we don't see any new molds for the rest of the year either. Warpath is slated to start showing up around March and the line continues the rest of this year... that's another nine months! We've got plenty of time for Generations to get plenty of attention alongside DotM.

    This^

People need to stop getting bent out of shape and crying about the movie line being the cause of all the worlds ails. Generations is unaffected by anything, at least for the time being. OK, United might be ending, but Hasbro will continue to produce their own version of this line concurrent with DotM.
It's quite sad really how many people in this thread have mistaken United for Generations or vice versa.

Besides, United will return under another name eventually. Maybe then Takara will have realised that they don't need to slap shiny paint all over all their figures. I'm not really that bothered by the fact that United is going away. Apart from voyager Megs, Jazz, Tracks and Drift, most of the line has been awful IMO.

I'm surprised at Takara ending United now, when there's at least three completely new molds they haven't released yet. Hopefully when they do get around to Windcharger and the others they'll have given up on the mis-matched metalic paint.

I'm more concerned that it's only 11 weeks until the DOTM toys are released but we still haven't seen a single pre-order for Reveal the Shield Demolition Rumble or the other scout repaints. The pre-orders for Windcharger went up around last October or earlier as I recall. I suspect if Hasbro release Rumble before DOTM then he's going to be really difficult to get hold of.

How can someone "hate" something that has never harmed you? Not linking it? Sure. But "hating"?

Really? You're now going to assert that hate is too strong a word? Is there no end to the defensive madness?

I like both, perhaps not equally but I am a huge fan of the movie toys. Don't get me wrong, I could happily get along with nothing but classics style figures for the rest of eternity, but it's also nice to have some variety. Since I'm looking forward to the new movie line and I'm quite chilled about the fact that Generations will be around for a while, I'm not getting too worked up. Besides, once the movie line dies down, another classics-inclusive line will appear and everyone who "hates" the movie toys can come out from under their rocks.

Plus, movie toys and figures taking aesthetic cues from them have given us some awesome stuff which has even turned the heads of some of the haters. It's all about experimenting and expanding the brand. Who knows what great figures we might get as a result of the development of the movie style?

^This x 100%. Im hopeful, but the lack of news concerning plans for United just makse me slightly twitchy. That said, i'll settle for the RTS versions of upcoming stuff, no issues.

Generation is already seen as a line with no future by Hasbro UK since the bumped it off at Wave 2 in the UK.

I'd be very shocked if much was made after Warpath bar additional gift sets or repaints.
Why would Takara-Tomy kill it if they had new mould to come out soon ?

Unless they plan to tack Warpath on to a relaunched japanese non-movie line in 2012.

I'm a bit disappointed as I almost feel like Hasbro's twisting my arm into buying things i'm not 100% taken with yet by removing something I could be chasing instead until the Movie toys go on clearance and they have a price that more reflects their worth - I.e. dirt cheap.

I hate the cold, I hate the fact that I have two papers to deliver till the end of the month, I hate the fact North Korea still exists, I hate Bin Landen. Those are things well worth of hatred.

What I don´t hate are plastic toys, despite them not being of my liking. Call it "defensive" all you like, just because I don´t RAGE at the fact some toyline is being discontinued (even tho it´s not really being discontinued, not that those fact will stop people).

It sucks that this line won't continue, but I did get a couple of cool toys out of it - love that Voyager Megatron!

at this point i starting to hate the movie line toys just because they always push to the side the real good projects like classic/generation/animated/and so on. they need to realize what sells better, and what the fans demand/like

They do, the movie. The first movie line pushed G1 to 3rd spot in the sales department, and dethroned Armada from it's position on the top of the heap. I've not heard whether ROTF out preformed movie 1 in sales or not.

And the fact that they keep making classic-y lines is all the bone we need.
