I've noticed that these items are going for crazy amounts of money online. Does anyone know if they will be rereleased?

The first one has already been reprinted once. I know because that's the one I have. Based on that, I assume there will be more reprints.

I'm in the same boat as you. I missed out on the reprints. Like he said before thought I'm sure they will reprint them. So patience is key.

I'm trying to figure out what's up with Vol. 3 ~ it was supposed to be out last week, then the Amazon release date moved to JULY!?!?!?!

Amazon's date is most likely incorrect. According to IDW editor Denton Tipton, volume 3 will come out on 2 March.

Amazon has really been screwing up dates and deliveries on everything IDW lately. Is the Drift TBP out yet? Because they still haven't shipped mine and I pre-ordered it.

You had better check that you ordered the right version, and that your order hasn't been cancelled. For some reason IDW had supplied Amazon with two different entries for the Drift TPB, each with its own ISBN number. One had Lee Ferguson listed as the artist and a release date in February, with the other one listing Alex Milne (correct) as the artist and a release date in January.

I guess it is possible that you accidentally ordered the wrong version, and even though Amazon has now deleted the erroneous entry it is possible that they haven't adjusted your order so that it's for the correct version.

The version that you want (and which was indeed released on January 18) has ISBN 978-1600108556.

hey, since you seem to be in the know, any word if "The Complete All Hail Megatron" should be thought of as "The IDW Collection Vol. 5" or will they release it AGAIN and split it out across 2 of the IDW Collection Volumes?

(it's stuff like this that reinforces my opinion that it's just totally amateur hour @ IDW)

The AHM hardcover is the equivalent of another "Premier Edition" hardback (for those who don't know, the Premier Edition hardback series were the series before idw changed their minds and went with the cheaper IDW Collection series).

AHM will indeed see reprinting again as part of the "IDW Collection" series. I believe vol 5 is intended to have the material of AHM #1-16.

I don't know if I would say that I'm "in the know" – I just try to stay reasonably informed. I'm maintaining an import service for the Nordic TransFans, so I need to know what information to give my customers when a new order period starts.

As for The Complete All Hail Megatron, there has been very little information on that volume, so right now it's anyone's guess how IDW will be dealing with it.
It is more expensive than the "regular" IDW Collections, so over at IDW's forums there has been some speculation that it may be another oversized Premiere Collection, but I don't think I agree with that viewpoint. The Premiere Collections were priced at $100, and the IDW Collections at $50. The Complete AHM's recommended retail price will be $75, but I think the difference in price is mostly due to the increased page count. Volumes 3 and 4 are listed at Amazon as having 300 and 352 pages respectively, while the Complete AHM will apparently have 492 pages – about 50% more.

So my guess is that it will be the same size as the IDW Collections, only with more pages. And with IDW Collection volume 4 apparently containing Maximum Dinobots, Revelations, and the Drift mini-series(!), that pretty much completes all the material set before the AHM series, essentially setting the table for The Complete All Hail Megatron to fill the space of a fifth volume of the IDW Collection.

There is one slight problem with that theory though. (Or maybe not.) The thing is that IDW Collection volume 4 will supposedly feature three of the Spotlights from the AHM era: Jazz, Drift and Metroplex. And the other two AHM Spotlights - Blurr and Cliffjumper - have already been included in the first IDW Collection. So from that point of view the Complete AHM will feature five reprinted stories!
With the five Spotlights out of the way IDW could theoretically then release a volume 5 collecting the remaining 16 AHM issues, but then, why would anyone buy the fifth volume if they've already purchased the Complete AHM? So, no, I think The Complete AHM probably still takes the place of volume 5, but that IDW decided to change its name to both have a reason to collect the entire 21-issue series in a single volume, while at the same time creating an excuse/alibi to avoid the complaints that it contains five reprinted stories.

So basically, my answer is that I suspect that this will be the only hardcover release featuring All Hail Megatron. But that's just guesswork.

I think the IDW Collection books are the hardcover ones, of which only two have been released and we're waiting on the third. All Hail Megatron is included in one of those, but can also be purchased separately as a Trade Paperback.

"IDW Collection" is indeed the hardcover books (one of two types; there was also the oversized "Premiere Collection" before that), but other than the Spotlight issues that comprised the trade paperback All Hail Megatron volume 3, the All Hail Megatron series (16 issues, collected in the trade paperbacks A.H.M. volumes 1, 2, and 4) has not been included in the IDW Collection books yet.

Volume 1 includes Megatron Origin, Infiltration, and six Spotlight issues,
Volume 2 contains Stormbringer, Escalation, and six more Spotlight issues,
Volume 3 will have Devastation, New Avengers/Transformers, plus five more Spotlight issues, and
Volume 4 is said to contain Maximum Dinobots, Drift, plus seven Spotlight issues (including the Revelation story arc).

What are the chances we'll get any more clarification before the release of The Complete All Hail Megatron? And would that be the end of the IDW Collection stuff? This stuff is confusing!

Very good, I think. IDW hasn't even officially announced the book yet, we only know about it because it is listed at Amazon. We should learn more about it in March or April, when the solicitations for June and July are released.
