I have never seen a "lego compatible" brand that was truly comparable when it came to Lego quality.

If they can actually pull off making them work well with Lego stuff then I'd say they have some shot. Lego is really good at their marketing and coming up with new themes so attempting to get people to give up Lego for this new brand wouldn't have been the best approach.

Mini figures though are what might make this line shine. Lego has learned that the mini figures are often hotter than the building sets so they have been doing mini figure only releases to cash in on it. Part of the problem with things like GI Joe Built to Rule was that it didn't work well with actual GI Joe figures, but mini figures that might be a market.

This has got to be the stupidest post today. And yet more proof of Apple's brainwashing. iPod's are downright inferior MP3 players in most regards, save marketing.

Big figures are kind of a bag of suck. I'll be grabbing the playsets for the minifigs.

Yes, it was mentioned earlier in this thread.

As for me, I'll probably get them for the minifigs alone, but who knows? They can't possibly be any worse than BTR, right?

    ...Right?

Dude - no. How many people have come up with lego-formers that need NO rebuilding to transform?

A lot. It's completely possible to do and completely half-ass that you (apparently) can't do that with these.

Maybe the marketing idea is that Hasbro already has a load of figures that transform so people looking for the transforming play pattern already have that option. This stuff looks like it's aimed for the building play pattern so if some kid really likes to build with the blocks it's a two in one build since they can build the car then take it apart and build the robot.

While that may be true it doesn't change the fact that I think they suck and are half-assed.

A step up from BTR, but not nearly enough.

Marcelo Matere designed the head for all robots in the line and confirmed that they CAN transform AFTER the building process.

    Stop worrying now.

I'll believe it when I see it, and if it's true then I'll take back everything I said and buy these.

I don't believe it, though. I can't see how any of them could possibly transform without a hell of a lot of parts-forming.

Yeah, i'm with Buzz ~ i can't and won't say you're "wrong" per se, but i've never come across any "lego compatible" bricks that basically didn't feel like a KO by comparison.

Kre-O's? What an odd name. Should have called them Has-Blox.

20 years ago I'd have been all over these as I never seemed to have enough Lego Technic pieces to make a decent Transformer. The kids are gonna lap them up I reckon.

If they do transform, I'm getting them all. I used to love Legos and build my own Transformers. I remember doing a mini-Prime that had all at once a Powermaster, a dual mode Headmaster, a Targetmaster, two different robot modes (like Punch/Counterpunch), two different super modes and a base mode (trailer).

like i said before on another post! Lego could've been sitting on a cashcow if IT had released a Transformers range(it's done well on OTHER movie related themes) but i guess it missed the boat on this one!
