this one has not turned out well so far imo, proportions are off, chest is way to big. Really dissapointed, I really liked the design.
I'm still thinking this looks nice, but hip area needs some beefing up, and they better do some good work on that head.
It's been asked. Repeatedly. Those with any sense keep telling those people to shut the hell up, because it just forces Hasbro to respond, the only outcome of which is bad. Any official statement reflects on the companies image. If they denounce the existence of the third parties, then they're forced to take legal action, otherwise they'll be considered legally soft. If they publicly state that they'll let them be, then it's open season, and it gives everyone the signal that they can mosey into Hasbro's territory without recourse. By feigning ignorance, they can let them be, as I'm sure they recognize the peripheral benefits to the brand and the fandom by letting them exist, and it really doesn't affect their bottom line any. But Hasbro most certainly has reps scouring the various message boards, even if they're now forbidden from making direct statements. Assuming that they remain unaware of the whole third party market is incredibly naive and foolish.
I am sure with colour this toy will scream Soundwave but that HEAD NEEDS REPLACING. I am hoping we are getting sneek peaks so that they can get feedback and work on making the item better. My feedback....GET A BETTER HEAD.
A bit odd proportioned, but I'm still excited. The head's a bit odd too. Then again, it's just a prototype. The final product could be different.
Do you have any idea how big that would be? He's supposed to be a "micro"-cassette recorder. If he were a voyager, he'd probably be 3to 4 inches by 7 to 8 inches. not exactly "micro".
This is shaping up nicely. The mold will only get tighter and cleaner as it's produced, and I can't wait to see the final product. They need to make the head more angular in design though. Its too spherical. Guido Guidi's design was more sharp.
Ewwww. Anorexic breast implant Soundwave isn't looking so hot. I'll wait for final judgement but really I'm quite happy with Music Label Soundwave.
Not realy doing it for me. for the price you will pay for this you could prob get a music label soundwave which fits perfect in the classic line IMO
I really like the fact that his chest can house a G1 sized cassette. If they can get the head right, I think this is finally going to be the Soundwave missing from my Classics collection. That is of course, unless Hasbro decides to release an official Classics version. Even then, I think this guy will look great with the updated Ravage (included with Hound) and the Perfect Effect Rumble/Frenzy duo that I just ordered from TFsource. If Hasbro does decide to release an official Classics Soundwave, then I'll just have to display him with their new scout sized Rumble and Frenzy. The more the merrier. Now, we just need a decent Blaster to go with Perfect Effect Eject/Rewind... The Sound Label/Device Label versions of our favorite cassette toting characters are cool enough, but they just don't seem to fit in the Classics line IMHO.
Meh, if it's over $30, (which it likely will be) they can keep it! I'm quite content with my G1 and WFC Soundwaves regardless.
Looking good but the waist area looks a little thin. If it comes with modernized versions of the other tapes like Lazerbeak I'll jump on it.
Depending on how tall he is, I'll definitely get him. Hopefully he is close to Megs height. I know they won't be the same height, but I like Soundwave to be close to Megs, if he's in between the Seekers and Megs I'll bite. I still can't wait till Hasbro makes a Classic Soundwave though, I'll use this Soundwave for my Season 1 display shelf and the Hasbro one for Season 3.
excellent! It appears he has the push button type tape deck door. I will have to see more of the head before I judge it, but it appears it will fit in about as well as DL blasters does. My only complaint really is the megatron like legs... but considering the transformation, i can overlook that.
