I really like the "Deep Desert" look on a CGI Brawl now. Also I'm happy to see the great Long Haul and Sideways desgins back.
Though on another note I dislike having Brawl as another clone, because he was a character who was "named" and really had a roll in TF1. Blackout and Grindor are the exception for me because it's a slightly different alt mode.
Sideways and Long Haul I could care less for in terms of story.

Thoughts?

 

First off I'm happy to see those designs again.

But on the same token, I would really dislike the idea of having them just looking pretty only for Optimus to use as punching bags, and nothing more.

I've always wanted dialouge, character.. and then I guess it's fine to destroy them. Will this be the case this time? Or just canon?

Maybe TF3 will be the mother of all battles between Jazz clones and Barricade clones.

 

it ain't clones, it is all protoforms scanning the SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE so it transforms EXACTLY THE SAME WAY! THAT IS WHY THEY LOOK ALIKE!

why is this so hard to grasp! this is why BLACKOUT AND GRINDOR LOOK SIMILAR AND HOW THERE WERE TWO "LONG HAULS" WALKING AROUND!

 

I hate it, because in the first film they did the decepticon rolecall, making them all seem like they had their own individual personailty, but ROTF made it like the Long Haul drone, and the Blackout drone, it takes away their individualism, like what the autobots have

Then please explain the Skids and Mudflap issue?
And by that I mean the Chevy Sparks for DOTM. At least they have different heads and they're bigger and more abnormal arms are on the other sides of each?

Also, where's a Long Haul in the trailer? I see Brawl, a protoform from ROTF Egypt scene, and MAYBE a Blackout/Grindor form.

 

I like that they at least recoloured Brawl, but I think if you're going to re-use old designs, then you should give them a few differences to avoid the 'cheap' feel (ie new heads, different weapons, slightly altered limbs etc) as well as a new coat of paint.

Anyway, Yeah, I never thought of them a clones. They're not; they just have identical modes. They don't bother me much though I have to ask why they pick the exact same modes over and over again. For example a protoform just happened to take the same alt mode as Brawl and Long Haul? That makes it seem lazy. But still, you can't spend an eternity on the design process of this film can you?

 

it's lazy imo re-using old models for cons, really gives them no sense of individuality. Sad to see if they are the same, I didn't spot long haul, blackout or brawl in the trailer. Seen far away cons with little detail and ANOTHER protoform.

 

headsculpts are the one thing that doesn't make my theory 100% sound, since we saw bumblebee and the twins retein their headsculpts from reformatting, i see it at a base they are the same bodies, but, can modify minor features like head shapes to their liking, giving them a sense of identity. that also explains why the basic decepticons just keep the same headsculpts for the most part, cause you see, they are just soldiers, they are ment to work efficently and do their jobs, silly things like changing yourself to look different just doesn't matter in battle

even then, we haven't seen the character models for DOTM skids or mudflap, so maybe mudflap will have the same body as skids this time with slight modifications

and are the twins the same type of car? i have seen the image but i didn't look at detail

i know my comment seem harsh, but my attitude boils from an old thread where there were people who even had the frickin idea that the constructicons who formed devastator did not have robot modes....which made me bash my skull into my monitor form the sheer stupidity

 

I hope have a clone of Blackout / grindor in the next trailer!

 

ive never cared for clones or drones; toywise? I feel they are lazy and just out to get a buck from the consumer (lens drones from TF1) and movies wise: it just confuses the average viewer. How many times did I hear in the theater people ask that they thought Blackout was dead yet there he was again in TF2.

I personally hope they dont have anymore blackouts or grindors, pave low shit is old. I WANT AERIAL BOTS. and besides we all know there is some, bay is hiding alot of characters.

 

Bay will have Blackout and Grindor or just some new robot name for the model because.... Apparently Bay love the design....
Watch, one of them will have a short cameo.
