I find it funny that they repainted an ambulance and called it cannonball, when in the movie "Cannonball Run" they race in an ambulance.

Soundblaster I pre-ordered, and Cannon ball will join my collection once I find him in stores.

Red Alert is not an ambulance. He's a Dodge Magnum.

I like the Thundercracker repaint, much nicer colours then before. So much so that I might actually buy this mould now.
Cannonball is a nice attempt to do something different but I allready own a Red Alert so he isn't of much interest. Some pirate specific remoulds would have had a good chance of changing this.

With sirens on the top. I realize the mold is based off the dodge magnum. Talking to dodge dealers I have heard of owners of funeral homes using black ones as herses.

The red alert toy, is more or less a magnum that got the ecto-1 treatment.

for a period of time hearses and ambulances were commonly built upon the same chassis.

Now calling a big white stationwagon with a fast engine and sirens that transforms into a robot called either Red Alert or First Aid an ambulance is something I consider rather reasonable, especially given the structural simmilarities that ambulances and hearses have shared at various points in time and the fact that the Dodge Magnum which is what the toy is based on is actually used as a hearse by some.

Cannonball has cool colors, but the graphics are pretty lame on him.

Also....I am totally at a loss for words on that Skywarp...

...WHY?!?! Why did you have to repaint Thundercracker, Hasbro?!? Why not make a larger version of the LoC Skywarp?!??! *sighs*

Cannonball looks pretty good to me. I skipped Red Alert so I'll be sure to pick Cannonball up. I like the purple on Skywarp, so I think I'll be picking him up as well.

Cannonball is one cool repaint. I really love the "pirate hearse" look, the paint job is really cool and the skulls are a nice touch. At least Hasbro's being original with their repaints. I skipped on Red Alert cause I wasnt a big fan, but I'll be sure to pick up this guy once he hit stores (especially since he's a decepticon!).

It's amazing how a new coat of paint can change so much; for good (in the case of Cannonball) or for worse (in the case of Skywarp)

As for Soundblaster, he looks good. I doubt he'll be released as part of Cybertron, but still a pretty decent repaint.

I probably should've found a thread that was more LOC Thundercracker-centric, but I'll just say it here.

I really like that Thundercracker. The feet are bigger for more stability, and the big gun is probably on a ball joint so you can pop it right off and it'll be almost like he has two arms with fists.

Yaarrrrrrrrr......I like cannonball's look. Now we just need ninja's, so that the pirates and ninjas can square off in the FIGHT OF THE AGES, YAAARRRRRRR. Who will win? Nobody knows.

i'm really dissapointed with the sky warp... they really should have just repainted a starscream mold with black and purple would have been so much better than repainting this crappy mold.

Now; I like Thundercracker, I really do, his mold is nice and I have no complaints on his characterisation, but my first thought when I saw that Skywarp repaint was, and I quote...

"That's Skywarp? Come ON couldn't they have at least gone for the homage factor?" (Or maybe a little paraphrased due to faulty memory circuits.)

Honestly; bright purple, white and red trim does not scream SKYWARP, maybe BLITZWING or CYCLONUS as some others have said, but not SKYWARP... I ain't saying Hasbro should always go the homage route with a character sharing the name of the G1 predecesor, heaven knows we've had enough G1 homage Skywarps for a while now, but honestly if you're going to call a guy Skywarp at least give him a decent paint job, maybe something more along the lines of darker purple with blood red trim and smokey gray instead of the white.
That version is just way too bright for my liking; I prefer my Decepticons to be closer to the dark side of the spectrum. :lol  Bad puns intended.

Soundblaster's a nice repaint; being a GF mold though I probably won't get it, Soundwave is going to be expensive enough anyway due to CND prices. :banghead:

Cannonball... :huh Nice name; interesting and unique recolor, but dude, the RED ALERT mold? I really love the character on the show; and I dig the toy, but damn is he just way too small to be a good deluxe and his legs have real problems staying perfectly flush together... I ain't buying that mold a second time; no matter how many dayglow skeletons and piratey phrases they stick in his bio.

I'm going to call him "European G2 Skywarp", since he would fit right in with that bunch!

I really like Cannonball, he is a unique repaint with some good colours. I think they should have repaint the Dirt Boss mold though, I mean, he already kinda has an eye-patch :p

Besides, we really need a good Dirt Boss repaint.

He's from Planet X. Not a Decepticon. His bio states both factions fear him equally. Outside the box, friend! air smells much cleaner.

And thanks for that well thought-out reply. If you don't like them, why bother replying? I don't think any of them look horrible.

Cannonball is a very strange repaint. The newsletter version had the eyepatch paint ap, too...and I think it looks like a show-hearse.

The Cannonball pirate-hearse thing is odd but humorous.

Not really feeling any of these recolors myself, don't think I'd shell out the money for them.

What's with the yellow slash across Soundblaster's face? To symbolize a test shot?

:thumbdown  Cannonball, if they wanted to do a pirate version of Red Alert with an eye patch, why didn't they put Dirt Boss' head or Energon Slugslinger's on the Red Alert mold? It would have been far better than the silly paint job. One of Red Alert's greatest features is his visor. Why mess it up with a half paint job. I would have also prefered an RID X Brawn version of Red Alert, instead of this misguided catastrophy. :banghead:

:thumbdown  Skywarp, was going to buy him when I saw the earlier test shots and I would have forgiven the cyclonus purple and even the white triming on the wings, but what were they thinking with the red bleeding on the wings? Thundercracker might have orange outlining for no reason, but at least he looks more realistic with a solid grey paint job. One other thing, how hard would it have been to have given him a left hand that HOLDS the launcher in both modes, instead of a left hand that IS the launcher? That would have made a big difference.

:rock  Galaxy Force Soundblaster, I'm a real G1 fan, but this mold just loves this black paintjob, not the blue like Soundwave. It looks good in both and if I could buy both I would, but since I can only pick one, Soundblaster it is. :thumb

Cannonball looks pretty cool...I'm not all that interested in TF anymore, but maybe I'll buy it if I have extra pocket money...

    "Misguided Catastrophy"

It's a $10 toy that kids will buy in Wal-mart stores. Don't ya think that's a bit dramatic? :stick:

I don't understand the fandom's habit of getting super-dramatic and angry at toys meant for 5 year olds.

Thundercracker's repaint, although I would have preferred army green as Thrust, is fine as Skywarp. If they would have painted it any other color, we'd have hundreds of fanboy rant posts about why it shoulda been a Skywarp homage. You guys don't have to buy any of these. Isn't it easier to just overlook it than sit and gripe about it on a message board?

You must be new to the fandom? Unfortunately people will gripe about EVERYTHING...there's nothing you can do about it.

I don't know about Cannonball, the head paint is a bit weird, hate the "pirate thing", Skywarp.. I like actually more than Thundercracker.
