It's not so much the "law" but moreso "don't bite the hand that feeds you".

OP and Megs: They look like they have no organic parts. Like, we have beasts in Energon and Cybertron, but they were very robotic. That's what these guys look like. Not at all appropriate as a 10th Anniversay BW thing, not to be set alongside the 10th Anniversary releases. BUT, I do like how they look. I will be picking these up.

Not what I was expecting when Aaron Archer said that Hasbro's 10 Aniversary OP and Megs would be better than RobotMasters'.

If people have questions about our image posting policy, feel free to PM me. But ate now, we do not post scans fro mthe TCC Newsletter out of respect to them. They asked us, and we complied. It was the same with the old OTFCC newsletters. They asked people to not post scans, so we did not allow them. This policy is also in place for Toyfare magazine, who have asked us not to post scans from their magazine. It's simple respect for people who do legitimate hard work to acquire exclusive info or rights.

As for Japanese magazine scans, I posted somethign about this before. Japanese copyright laws allow for scanning of magazine articles, pieces of magazines, etc. so long as you:

    A. Give full name credit to the source publication (in this case the magazine name).
    B. Are not duplicating the entire publication for viewing.

Though we are well within our legal rights to share those scanned images, if those companies decided they did not want us to post those scans, we would comply out of respect.

If other sites decide to post scans from the newsletter, that's on them. As long as they are not linked to or mentioned of as a source for the image(s) here, then it's not my concern.

Again, if anyone has a question, PM me. Now let's get this discussion fully back on the news itself. Namely the info revealed in the magazine. If it continues to spiral off topic into "Why can't we post pics".

This thread goes contrary to what I've read otherwise in the forums in regards to someone else's property. I'm mostly pointing to any references for torrents for cybertron episodes or otherwise talk of sharing cybertron episodes. I'm betting Hasbro isn't too happy about having their stuff illegally shared, but I notice that doesn't lead to the type of response we've seen here. So we're biting Hasbro's hand, but not the tfclub's hand, because the tfclub said not to bite them?

Torrents are another issue. Fans here usually posted torrent links to galaxy force, not the domestic cybertron release. And tfw themselves do not offer torrents as part of this site. Now if tfw were to solicit full high res episodes of cybertron on torrent, then maybe there might be a problem. I duno just offering my insight.

Cybertron episodes are available freely on the Hasbro Action website.

Our policies are NOT for open discussion.

Let's forget all this stupid stuff about posting rights and such, the moderators are in charge of the forums and whatever they say goes. Some things we all may not agree on, but that is the way it is. Even if it is not a written rule anywhere about posting exclusive pics they have mentioned it was not allowed quite a few times in this post.

I am so so so upset about how Primal and MegaJerk look, for those of you who have not seen pics, be happy. Megatron has like a big box for a shoulder, and it is not a pretty site. :cry

Aha.... and your point is different than mine how?

Doesn't change the fact that the policy is morally ambiguous. (sp?)

Edit -- Self-censored. This is a transformers forum, no reason to get my panties in a bunch over anything related to rights.

There is nothing ambiguous about any of this policy. TFW is not going to post materials from magazines that ask them not to. Its as simple as that. Japanese copyright law is far more lenient, thus we get scans of Japanese toy mags. But if those mags requested for the scans to be taken down, they would be taken down.

As for torrents and downloading episodes-- this is still a hazy issue. Right now what is clear in this regard is its morally wrong to download episodes of shows that are available for sale. But if you THIINK ABOUT IT, why would Hasbro object towards the online downloading of Cybertron episodes? Cybertron episodes are 30 minute commercials-- Hasbro wants you to watch the show.

You know, sometimes I find the actions or policies of the board members objectionable or contrary to what I believe-- but not in this case. I think this is a pretty straightforward issue. I don't understand why folks are discussing the policy.

What I don't like is websites that disrespect these rules and requests and I don't intend to support or visit those sites.

Duhr, I forgot to ask something:

Are the BadassTerpiece Primal and Megatron selling at the same pricepoint as the other BW Anniversary repaints so far? Or was that not said, yet?

Here's to hoping we get better pictures of both (with Primal's shoulderpads out), soon.

*still trying to get over how utterly perfect Megatron looks*

I think TFW2005 should move to international waters. Then we ALL could be pirates, at least in a way.

And I was thinking about a possible GF/Cybertron backstory for Primal and Megatron, involving some kind of civil war on Animatros ages ago and featuring the Animatros repaints and possibly show characters like Backstop and Snarl (when he was but a pup).

I don't see these new toys fitting in very well with any other Beast Wars Anniversary figures. I can't wait to get them, but they should be like a BW Extreme or something. I'm so glad I ordered Takara's BW Reborn OP/Megs set.

And Let's Have BWX Ravage! Hasbro, keep looking for the mold!!!!!!!!! <-----More exclamation points, to make my point much more valid. :D

Landquake isn't pictured in the magazine, he was only described as a repaint of Energon Kickback.

Um, there's more than one company with the name "Shockwave" trademarked right now. Take a look at the live ones here . Yeah, the big one is still among the live ones (not to mention the 5 other live ones). Next time actually try to look it up before blurting something like that out.

I wish I had something to say about the pics, but just about everything's already been covered in this thread, so anything I can currently think to say on that score has been covered. *sigh*
