Aren't the attendee souvenir sets usually not of the molds from the same series though?

Yes! Arcee as Dragstrip would be cool, Definitely WreckGar as MM and I would love to see a Kup from the deluxe cybertron prime!

Cool set but want to see how they handle the rest. If they do use Prime for MM then I hope he gets a head remold!

I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed in Motor Master. :(

That looks good! The Animated fans are having their day in the sun this year.

I wish I had the space for Animated stuff at home. That being said, there's plenty of stuff this year for the Classics/Masterpiece fan in me to blow my pay cheque on, so I'm not complaining - it really is a golden era for all types of TF fans right now.

Yeah - I'm in Wisconsin as well and can't get out there either this year. Will be going for an Iacon package though, and will be looking for someone to pick up the exclusives and attendee bonus as well!

I think there will be alot of people trying to do the same. I think I'm going to try but I'm not sure if I'll be able to swing that kind of money. I may just have to be happy with getting the non-attendee box-set, if I can even afford that after looking at what the box sets usually go for.

But I'm gonna try dang-nabbit, it's the Stunticons after-all.. Animated!

Ok so let's see, if I can convince my wife that we need to squirrel away $100 a pay cheque for the next few months and we live off mac&cheese for that time, then sell her bike... hmmm, I might just be able to swing it! lol!

Although Wreckgar would be nice as Motomaster especially with the bulk of the trailer-esque back piece, but you guys already know Voyager Prime will be the mold used. They have to finish the Takara - Hasbro mold balancing act on exclusives....

Botcon 2007 Clear Blue Mirage = Henkei Clear Ligier
Botcon 2007 Dreadwind = Henkei Dark Skyfire
Botcon 2008 Evil Rodimus = Henkei Wildrider
Botcon 2011 Wildrider = Takara Animated Black Rodimus
Botcon 2011 Motormaster = Takara Animated Black Prime

...you get the idea...everytime one uses a mold for an exclusive, the other follows suit...

Yup. Hence my feeling of disappoint in the earlier post that the Wreck-Gar mold won't be used for Motor Master. :(

I don't see Wreck-Gar being used as Motor Master only because the transformation would require giving him a neck (a long, skinny one, at that), and then he would look really stupid if they decided to give him a new G1 cartoon-inspired head sculpt.

That box needs to be mounted right ontop of the body. The neck can be inside the box, but absolutely not under the box.

But, is it completely impossible for a Motormaster from the voyager prime mold to be absolutely awesome?

Well, no. I still think a Motormaster using the voyager Prime mold can be awesome.

My disappointment I think is more of a result of the fact that the voyager Prime mold seems awfully overused already and would've liked something different.

Motormaster molds, in order of desirability (tongue-in-cheek, opinionated)

    1. Ultra Magnus. He's got lots of guns (more of a Decepticon trait in the Animatedverse), he's a nice chunky size, people will feel they got their money's worth with a Leader and four Deluxes (like all the cars in the Animated line). Plus he's pretty Classic-y for an Animated mold (just in terms of chunky-ness) so he could find a home on a lot of Classics shelves. Like mine.
Problem: Either he's got a big sculpted Autobot logo, or he's got an extra bit of expense to burn in remolding him. In fact this is probably the most troublesome mold to use. But it would be AWESOME.

    2. Wreck-Gar. Lots' of people like it, there are similarities in the head as noted, and his figure represents a bulky enough truck.

    3. Optimus Prime (Voyager). His animation model was tested in Motormaster colors (as per Allspark Almanac) so I guess I can see it but...not super excited. Optimus looks like Optimus, and Motormaster is not Nemesis Prime. I figure blessing him with a new haed would at least help.

4-infinity: Other Optimus Primes, Bulkheads, Soundwave.

...and that's about that as far as trucks go.

For example the '07 set were all Classics molds but the souvenir sets were molds from Cybertron.

Awfully oversused as what?? If you are considering the black prime exclusives, EVERY prime gets a black exclusive, so I am not sure what "overuse" you are referring to.

*EDIT - and you realize we mean the ANIMATED voyager Prime, right?

i just got an idea for motormaster:
it was hinted at an invasion theme, maybe motormaster is an elite guard traitor? that way they could USE the leader magnus mold without needing to remold the eleite guard symbol, and even if they don't remold the head for magnus, the head is pretty close to the g1 toy's headsculpt, just use paintaps to give him the "knight helmet visor" effect and it could work

    just an idea

I dont really see it as 'overused' but there has been the Hasbro version, Takara's first version with shiny paint, the black exclusive (which does look HOT, btw) and then a clear version that came with the Wingblade set. So 4 times, not really overused but it's been around a bit.

I still dont think the mold suits MM very much though.
