EPIC WIN... sorry but that is one of the most definite need to haves for me ever. I loved Warpath growing up and I really hope this turns out to be a great figure.

Well there goes the theory that was floating around that they were using his tank mode as launching point for blitzwing.

And not just this thread, it's rampant around here. It doesn't seem to matter how reasonable you try to be, if there's something you're not entirely happy about it, there will be people just itching at the opportunity to paint you as a nerd-rager.

ahh yes, what this thread needed was clearly some G-wun baiting. Always seems to go down well.

Obviously if people want Hasbro not to change an altmode for something silly, they must also want every outmoded G1 hiccup and technical handicap carried over too.

How about this: we know the original wasn't the pinnacle of perfection. If it was we'd feel no need for an update. And if that was the case, they could totally screw it up and it wouldn't matter ! :thumbs2:

I just read all eight pages of this thread to attempt to confirm this and, uh, it's totally not true at all.

It's like you came up with an example of something that could hypothetically offend you, and then decided that you were offended by it. Even though you said it.

Being angry can't be that fun, man. "I don't understand why someone wouldn't like this" is a far cry from "only true fans would like it."

I don't mean to nitpick what you say, I just...I'm sick of seeing these threads escalate needlessly into a THING, that's all. We are all looking forward to this. :)

(For the record, H-tanks look ridiculous, but this one is partly redeemed by actually having some bulk in the middle. Also, lame alt modes don't bother me because then I just leave them in bot mode. I will point out that unless this is some kind of epic mistransformation, it appears to be inferior to Universe Galvatron's actually-pretty-nice tank mode. But I fully expect that the robot mode will blow poor Galvie out of the water!)

it usually starts out as just voicing your opinion, positive or negative. People can be a little prone to hyperbole, but sometimes that's the best way to get your point across. It's not necessarily anger.

What actually makes people angry is when others try paint them as some sort of nerdraging manchild with a sense of entitlement and a mind firmly closed to new ideas. Or the opposite, sycophantic, Bay-lovin, anything-is-good enough, no standards for quality.

People need to stop trying to fight over a consensus and trying to force some sort of group think either way. I don't mind if people don't agree with my opinion; I just want them to understand where it's coming from.

That's pretty reasonable and pretty much in line with my own views, and I agree with your point about the bulk in the middle of the tank. It helps somewhat, it would be worse without that.

Though to disagree with you on one small but central point, if you're not too bothered about bad alt modes(and I know a lot of people aren't), you might as well just be collecting any old robots, not necessarily transformers. If I just cared about altmodes, well there's lots of high quality model cars and trucks and tanks, ships, everything.

For me a big part of the appeal of TFs has always been two toys in one. And I like each one to be as appealing as the other. And on top of that, there's the puzzle aspect, - how does that one cool toy turn into another? But if it's just one cool mode that curls into a sorry-looking attempt at another mode, then it's not only less of a toy, it's less of a puzzle as well, because they haven't challenged themselves to convert it into something truly satisfying in its own right.

Well no offense (and I'm not even remotely close to talking about you or bellpepper) but some people paint themselves. :)

There's just no call for being offensive over toys.

Sure! That's pretty much me right there.

I'm not saying the alt mode doesn't matter. However, a good robot mode redeems a bad alt mode for the simple fact that most of my toys spend their time on my shelf, in a standing position. I don't have enough time to transform them all very often, and usually find posing more fun than transforming.

NOTHING redeems a bad robot mode.

I like to transform, I like two toys in one, but most important, I like the CHARACTERS.

You must have missed a couple pages then. Here's one of them:

    ?

First off, nobody was up in arms. However, an opportunity to be condescending was presented, and was taken opportunity of.

Second of all, nobody was freaking out.

So, if you think that it was not true at all when I said:
Then how do you take it when FFN says:
The sh*t just gets old, man. It takes a better man than me that can take the "GEEWUNner stuck in the 80's" crap and keep coming back for more.

    *************
Sometimes I let it go. Sometimes I let it bother me.

Which is why my sig. says what it says.

Gotta admit- things have gotten relatively better. But still...

I feel if it's weak in one department, it has to be very strong in the other to make up for it.

For me they are just about equally important. And the transformation itself is important too. I like the transition from one mode to another to be inventive and creative. Posability has never been as important to me as it is to some fans, so long as I can get a relatively decent and stable standing pose out of it it doesn't bother me too much.

The thing is, there are often these big flame wars/disagreements over such a figure is awful or such a figure is amazing, when in actuality different people are judging the same figure with very different sets of criteria. It might meet my priorities perfectly, but fall short on something that is very important to someone else.

    To each his own, right?

Personally, while I think this tank mode looks weak, I really want to see the bot mode.

But to be fair, it would be more proper to see better pics than this little postage stamp.

    Very perceptive.

See, when I was a kid, I got Transformers for awhile but I didn't stick with it. I liked action figure lines, such as TMNT, Star Trek, Godzilla, and later Star Wars, better than vehicles that turned into robots with a missile launcher or some other gimmick to distract you from the fact that their legs didn't move independently.

What we have now, and why I'm buying them like a freaking junkie, are action figures that turn into vehicles.

When I realized this about the RotF, and retroactively the Classics lines, there was pretty much no turning back.

Just had a neat thought, if this has clip points on the shoulders and includes a rocket launcher and minigun then Hasbro could make easy money reusing it in the form of a War Machine homage.

Bonus points if said clip weapons could actually be folded down onto his back. ;)

Am I the only one who hopes he doesn´t get in cannon in the chest? I always thought it was a silly thing designs terms. I mean in combat is fine and all, but can you imagine him walking around while not in combat with a huge poke stick in his chest?

Probably. That's one of Warpath's most distinguishing features.
