Hey gang, Todd here with yet another slight repaint. With the release of Tron: Legacy in 2010,. I felt it was time to do a repaint I was considering for a while. Behold: TRON BEE! He is the standard Hasbro release painted with krylon Matte Black and a custom mixture of Tamiya X-13 Sky Blue and X-14 Metallic Blue. Tron Bee also comes with an identity disk that he can hold in either hand. I had thought of this a couple months back, even bought the Bee to paint up. Sure I was beaten to the punch, but I'm just glad that the result is exceptionally awesome.
*bows* I appreciate all the positive comments dudes! I was actually putting off the repaint myself, as I noted, but I'm glad I got to it.
I almost did this repaint, but I didn't feel like picking up another Bee or Cliff. It looks great. I wish the blue was a bit brighter, or at least some of that fancy glowing paint, but I can understand why it isn't. A tad rough around the edges of the blue paint, but my stuff comes out looking like that too, so I can't really criticize.
Love the idea and effort! My only criticism is something that I see often: thick, globby paint. May I suggest thinning out your paint and paint applications. It's always better to take your time and apply thin coats. Again, The idea and effort you've put forth is fantastic, keep at it!
I too had thought about this same bash. I was gonna use gloss black and florescent paints so he'll glow under a black light just like lightcycles in the movie.
I am curious where to find this fluorescent paint actually ^^; I had a Cliffjumper C.L.U. repaint idea so...
I got my set of fluorescent paints off Amazon. Whole set of colors including blue. That's a great deco. I like where you were going with the CLU idea (yellow on black, fitting!) But this is still a very nice setup.
Hey Todd! If its these your referring to, here they be! Testor Corporation Fluorescent Enamel Paint Set 9132x
Nice!!! Hey , this is a improvement, considering he is not wearing A jofa hockey helmet like they did in the original movies.GENIUS!!!
Thank you Master Control *bows Genius? xD wow...thank you. I just wish my paint apps were a little cleaner...*shrugs and chuckles* eh well, it's what practice was invented for
