While I regret some of the Unicron Trilogy figures that I've since sold, I don't regret being able to have them and figure out that I didn't like them. Sometimes, a figure looks cooler in the package than in hand. Basically, some of the Energon and Cybertron figures work better for me integrating them into my Classics collection. Cybertron Crosswise and Cybertron Red Alert, for example, really likes hanging out with Universe 2.0 Hot Shot
Generations Drift. ROTF Recon Ironhide. I don't know why I got Drift. I really dislike the toy as a whole. The kibble gets in the way of the toy's articulation, and the legs just look bad. I impulsed Generations Blurr and I feel that Blurr does the Drift mold better than Drift himself. Perhaps it's the coloration...I dunno. Both figures still have problems but when choosing between them I definitely like Blurr much better. Recon Ironhide I got for the look...but I'm kinda regretting him now. The leg's automorph is a hassle to deal with, and the articulation isn't as stellar either. Love the HFTD deluxe version much, much more. Other than that, I have to say that I've been very happy with the rest of my purchases.
I've never found any TF toy/figure I've ever bought to be completely useless. So no regrets. Even less than beautiful Transformers represent a part of Transformers history.
most of the movie lines (besides the ROTF Scouts and the odd mould like Rescue Ratchet and Banzaitron, those guys are just so much fun) Won't be making the same mistake with the coming line, i'll use that money saving and catching up on RTS and Generations.
I never really regret anything too much as if I end up disliking it for any reason I just resell or trade it towards something else.
Most of the CLassics/Universe/Henkei figures. They were okay, but when I realised they don't hold a candle to G1, I sold them all and brought lots of cool G1 stuff
I am way too picky when purchasing to buy something I didn't like at all. But the G1 seekers where the biggest dissapointment to me, so I sold them all on. I also sold what little Armada I had but only because I didnt feel like they fit in my collection at the time, I still enjoyed the figures, especially Tidal Wave and regret selling him now.
I don't really regret any of my purchases. The one I didn't really care for have let me trade for ones that I did. I just push the one's I don't like as much to the back of the collection shelves ha!
Whenever I regret a purchase, it's more about the price I paid rather than the figure I bought. Silly but true: just a couple of days ago, I went into TJ Maxx to see if they were clearancing. I found ROTF Rollbar and Ejector marked down to $4.00, and Nightbeat who was still $7.99. Now, I was ambivalent about Rollbar, I already had Ejector, and I had never wanted Nightbeat... until a couple of weeks ago when I got a repurposing idea for him. So I was excited to find him, and felt sure that the computer would ring him up $4.00 even though he wasn't marked. To prove that he should be $4.00, I bought Rollbar and Ejector too, figuring that even if he didn't ring up $4.00, the cashier would realize that there was a mistake, and even if she didn't realize there was a mistake, I'd easily be able to convince her that he should, in fact, be $4.00. He didn't, she didn't, and I couldn't. "This one is a different style," she said. A different style? I'm not buying clothes here, lady. I pointed out that they were all the same size, to no avail. I bought them all anyway. And I kind of regret it now. But I saved the receipt, and if I manage to find Nightbeat someplace else in the next week or so, they're all going back.
Off the top of my head I can't recall any that I purchased that I regret now. Of course, it may have been packed away so fast that I just forgot about it. Of course, I tend to only buy ones that have a really cool mode. I'm a bit picky as to which ones I buy. BUT.... I have gotten figures before as gifts that I typically would not have bought. It has been better the past year or so but I recall a Christmas recently that my Mom bought me just about every one she could find. It was a fantastic gesture (especially considering I was 25+ at the time...) but ultimately ended up with figures that got transformed once and forgotten.
buying Drift from ebay for $30 thinking they would go fast once they hit retail!!!! Was I wrong it seemed every store I went to... there was Drift for $10...I must learn patience.
Like so many others, I bought way too many movie/ROTF figures which I am now trying to get rid of. Just so many fucking repaints!
Almost all movie toys (not including CHUG inserted in the line) with the following exceptions: -ROTF Buster Prime -TFTM Voyager Prime, Battle Damaged -TFTM Arcee (Battle Damaged, Black, Pink, Regular) -All Human Alliance Also regret all A/E/C purchases now that the Classics/Generations/etc. collection is ongoing. Except Vector Prime and Cybertron Starscream molds.
