I dug up an old video tape that my mom recorded transformers on when I was a kid (at 2 years old) from 1988. I just love watching the old commercials, as they hearken back to a very different day when it comes to advertising for kids and the public in general. There were a lot more PSA's than there are now, and a lot of commercials for products that obviously don't exist anymore. So I thought I'd start a thread for some of your favorite commercials. Feel free to state the commercial, why you like it, and a video if applicable. I'll supplement with some videos later but here are a few to start. GI Joe toy commercials. Who doesn't like a real American hero? Swamp thing PSA. I'm gonna have to google Swamp thing later b/c my memory of him is gone. Was a a comic hero, a toy, a cartoon? Only google will tell. Forgetting the name of the product, but it was a ball with a disc around it, and you pogo hop on it. SO many commercials for this back in the day. Also on this tape I found were commercials for TMNT to begin airing in the fall of '88. So I guess some of the recordings I had were from the spring/summer of '88.
i miss the good ole days. we had TF episodes until that Oprah creature took off back in the day. the commercials made it awesome. i have a terrible memory, but i remember that the commercials were just as fun as the show. anyone recall My Buddy? or the Alf plush? those are are a couple i saw back then.
there were also a lot of commercials for kids to call in on the phone for scary stories. lol i thought about calling in a few days ago just to see what would happen
