i also voted excellent it's amazing what the transformers franchise has done in the last 25+ years. love the story, the bots and also the humans. it stinks that we have to wait till feburary but at least another trailer will be out by then. i have watched tf prime 4 times and most likely will watch it again.

I grew up in the 90's so I'm obviously a die-hard 'Beast Wars' fan. And truthfully, no show has really truly been able to really compare with that area. For its time it was boasting some incredible special effects and an even more incredible characters (i.e. Dinobot, Waspinator).
Every show since that time has (in my opinion) failed miserably to not only spark the interests of past TF fans, but they also didnt do a great job of even being memorable.

(Does anybody even remember RiD, BeastMachines, Armada???)

Transformers: Prime is quite a different kind of TF show. A difference that I expect with open arms. After watching the 5-Part "Darkness Rising", I can strongly say that this is one of the best TF shows since BeastWars.
    And Here are my reasons:

-Though I was quite annoyed at first that the character designs were obviously inspired by Micheal Bay's totally rad soon-to-be-trilogy, the looks grew on me after a while.
The animation at times could seem like it could have been more fluent, but when your staring at giant robots I guess that dosnt matter. The art style is very interesting and I quite like the semi-cartoony-CGI look. Also the characters are really impressive and actually fleshed out (some at least), but mostly they are just really awesome.

Bulkhead is no longer a tarded-tinhead-patrick star anymore. He's a one bot wreaking crew and isnt afraid to cram his hand into a decepticon's chest to rip tis spark out.

Arcee (easily my favorite) is a TOTAL BADASS and I believe she's actually one of the strongest bots on the team-if not just a bit broody. Its always cool to see really strong female characters in shows such as these, and Arcee is one of the strongest.

Ratchet could use some backstory, but I'm sure that'll come later. He's also quite the brawler (twin arm-swords for slashing deceptichops)

As far as Im concerned Soundwave is a girl... I'm not sure if that was intentional or if the writers wanted to go in a new direction.

Starscream is a walking nightmare(the good kind), 5mins in he kills an autobot in cool blood (or is it energon). He's dark, menacing, torturous, cruel, and totally lovable.

Megatron... now theres some thing about his voice that dosnt quite fit his look. Maybe I was too used to Hugo Weaving as Bay's big Megs, but thats nothing to look down at... since he single handedly put together on of the coolest 'world invasion' plots yet.
    (zombie bot invasion anyone?)

And then of course is Bumblebee... which I can honestly say is a waste of screen time because HE STILL CAN'T FRIKKIN TALK!!!!!!!!!!
This makes his totally transparent and you never really get the feeling that he's actually standing there and has an opinion that matters... just another drone.

And Prime.... oooooooooooh boy do I love this Prime. Im absolutly in love with Bay's badass versions of Prime and Im glad that it carried over into the show. He cuts, stabs, shoots, kicks, tears, rips, and just totally destroys the competition. He's waist is a little thin but whatevvaaaaaa.

I can definitely say that Im really looking forward to more episodes and really hope that the awesomeness continues on.

I rated it good and I haven't watched a TF cartoon since beast machines but hearing welker voice megatron again is freakin awesome, at times I can hear the old megs coming out. My biggest gripes is having an R2-D2 BB again (why couldnt bosch voice him? it is the "same" continuaty after all) and miko for the obvious reasons.

    More substance than the movies!

With much opinion on the movies ranging from disappointment to ambivalence and the seemingly premature ending to the previous well-liked TFs: Animated series, fans were sceptical or cautious about what TFs: Prime would be like. Turns out a lot of us were pleasantly surprised with what we saw from the opening mini-series.

TFs: Prime is a great new TV show to ride the popularity and interest wave following in the wake of the movies. It feels like it takes the best elements of the movies and improves on them. The intense action, the grand music, the dramatic up-close and shaking camera shots, the bot designs, the Sam Witwicky-like Jack Darby and Cullen's godly epic voice coming out of the title star of the show Optimus Prime give the episodes a real 'movie-feel'. The noticeable improvements occur in the attention paid to the characters of the bots and the clearer but still brutal and awesome action. I think many of us have been impressed with the emotional depth of Arcee and the rather dark and borderline mature moments and tone of the show, which have not left us older fans feeling completely left out.

The CG animation also produces some really beautiful-looking scenes: the desert landscape, the energon explosions and Space comes to mind. And it seems appropriate for giant robots if not humans so much.

Hasbro seems to be excited for this new show for good reason. There's signs of a great amount of history just waiting to be told in it. With the promising start it has made, it has the potential, as I've said before, to not only improve on the movies but to go beyond them. TFs: Prime could finally give the fans what they've always wanted from the movies and will no doubt be Hasbro's opportunity to present their rich new TFs fiction.

What can I say that has not already been said about the latest new TF show; it is a darker Transformers adventure that takes the best elements of Transformers new and old and puts it together. The story seems to achieve an epic nature that I have not seen in a Transformers cartoon or movie since Beast Wars. The action is top notch and wonderfully paced with the plot, the experience brings you to the edge of your seat, comparable to that of a big budget motion picture. The personalities of the characters ring true to their previous counterparts but, add a level of maturity to the franchise that has been needed for years this can be seen in both Optimus Prime and Megatron; Optimus is a mighty warrior who shows the burden of a long war with every word spoken, and is not simply defined by one liners and an overall lack of emotion, while the Decepticon leader is very much an evolution of the character who is cold, calculating and will utilize any means necessary to achieve his goals. In the end, it is a great time to be a Transformers fan!

'On the fence' for me... and I think I'm being nice.

I'm a bit tired of the rehashing of the same story. 'Autobots are relentlessly assaulted by Megatron (or Starscream) until the series gets tired' - at which point, it's canceled and we wait another year until the next iteration of the same base story.

Don't get me wrong, I do like that the typical cast of characters exist, but the story can be taken from so many other directions that create all new characters, new plot lines, and get away from the feeling that we're seeing the same thing over and over. What is this, the 6-7 version of the same (or very similar) story? ...It's just not good enough and it's boring.

A good example of a franchise that's changed things up over time would be Stargate. Each series has new characters (but reference the ones we know and love), and have distinct issues that they're dealing with. Star Trek is another great example. Please consider the approach these shows have taken before boredom and monotony claim the next Transformer tv series.

The short version IMO that it's Men In Black: The Series meets Jackie Chan Adventures done with Transformers in CGI.

It's a Duane Capizzi produced series, which normally gets better with time and polish.

Personally, I like watching how this series turn out after time. I did it with MIB: The Series and with Jackie Chan Adventures and was happy to watch. I'll do the same for TF: Prime.

Excellent. Nothing distracted, the animations was fluid and pretty, the story moved at a solid pace and never dragged or sped by, the characters were all pretty well rounded for five episodes, and the voice acting was top notch.

The way I was thinking was that only some humans could actually do this Energon like power. Jack would definitely be able to, maybe Miko, but Raf wouldn't need it, since he could be useful without it. It would be equivalent to Sari's AllSpark Key powers, only it's biological. Making the Transformers too dependent on humans, like with Powermasters would be too forced, IMHO. The humans would be useful to take into battle, but not necessary. It would also assure that the Decepticons would not kill them immediately, because they would want to force this power out of them!

    Human powered Energon Cannon, anyone?

I discovered I actually get the Hub so I gave it a chance and watched.

Not bad. Definitely nothing groundbreaking in story or animation, but not bad. I'd watch more of it.

I have to agree with the people that hate that stupid girl, though. She needs to get stepped on, pronto - or at least step her idiocy down. It's painful and tedious to watch her keep living through all her dumb shit. I think I actually swore at the screen when she didn't get crushed to pulp after staying inside Bulkhead after he transformed. Dumb.

I liked it. Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun and Brunt from Star Trek: DS9 and Shran from Enterprise) as Ratchet was great.

And nice to see my fave Animated character Bulkhead making a comeback. :D

I can't say it's perfect, because none of the Transformers series are perfect, but I am really glad that it takes itself seriously. It did NOT sugar-coat Cliffjumper's double-death. Megatron is actually kinda fun. It's giving a great spotlight to characters who are usually underrated, especially Arcee - they said they're trying to avoid the female stereotype with her, and that they have done. She HAS Robo-TNA (not to mention she looks to me like she went "navel" with her "attire"), but she's not there to BE Robo-TNA. And I'm gonna be one of the few (I would assume) that thinks Arcee is better in blue. They're taking liberties with characters like they did in RiD, and that's what the franchise needs is to give us some fresh products. Soundwave is...actually kinda creepy. There's something about him that gives off a creepy tone. Maybe it's that he doesn't speak (unless you count him playing recorded messages), but he does seem a bit creepy.

The human characters are alright. Fowler is sort of a mix between Fanzone (ANIMATED) and Galloway (ROTF). He's not prejudiced against the Autobots for being aliens that need Earth as a home, as Optimus said, he's just concerned for human safety. The kids are supposed to be a connection to the kids watching the show. To me (as a kid), all three can make up one person in real life - there's the part of me that wants to be of valuable help (Raf), the part of me that wants to be part of the action (Miko), and the part of me that wants to lead a normal life (Jack). Lately, shows have been not sparking imagination in kids enough, or shows have just been downright suppressing it. Speaking of sparking imagination, raise your hand if you ever wanted Ms. Frizzle as a teacher and/or be one of the students on THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS.

The only gripe I really have is that Bumblebee's lack of speech is REEEEAAAAAALLYYYYYY old. It's a joke that was funny the first time it's told. But other than that, the show is great. Probably right up there with BEAST WARS and ANIMATED. It's what the movies are trying to be, but even then, it's keeping itself separate at the same time.

Now it's time for a nerd rant. Gather 'round, kids!

I'm probably in a minority here, but I seriously want a new formula - with the exception of BEAST WARS and BEAST MACHINES, Optimus and Megatron have always been the exact same character. Optimus PRIMAL and [BW] Megatron were the result of a respective namesake. Even for how cheesy they were, BEAST WARS II and BEAST WARS NEO did this as well, possibly taking it a step further by not even having an Optimus or Megatron as the leaders, but Lio Convoy vs. Galvatron (BWII) and Big Convoy vs. Magmatron (NEO), and even they were separate characters. TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED was going for a similar revamping, but household names (Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Ratchet, etc.) didn't let it stretch like the Beast-era did, but it was nonetheless a new take on Transformers altogether. Despite being a prequel (more or less) to G1, WAR FOR CYBERTRON is actually what I want for a new Transformers series. The result would be a brand new story formula (they could have Optimus and Megatron protecting Cybertron together as sub-leaders, but someone/something causes Megatron to become evil), brand new characters (since it starts from the "beginning", they can take all the liberties they want), and best of all, BRAND NEW TOYS. They made a good move on making the four WFC characters, but they could have taken it a step further by making an entire toyline and not just tie-ins to a game. Besides, it's kinda boring getting the same old Optimus as the same old semi truck. ME WANT CYBERTRONIAN ARMORED VEHICLES OF DOOOOOOOOOOM.

Anywho, I'm gonna enjoy the rest of TF: PRIME, but I'm still wanting new material to pop up as much as it can.

It's settled better on me now over time, and the fact that I've re-watched it a few times. I think the fact that Megatron is a necromancer in this series is definitely something new. One complaint I have is how Megatron and Optimus keep saying the word "veins". Especially Megatron, when he claims the dark energon is flowing through his veins. It just sounds inaccurate to me, probably because they're robots. All the voice actors featured are excellent, and I really love the fact that Frank Welker and Peter Cullen are reprising their roles. I would love it if Bumblebee got his voice back............eventually.

The kid characters though....they should be kept a little more at bay in my opinion. But I'm sure it won't be a problem in the series.

    When do the episodes broadcast?

    and...
    *raises hand*
