Armada Powerlinx Hot Shot had a brand new molded, if similar, head.

Anywho, it doesn't matter. It's not gonna be "Atomic Lugnut". That'd just be stupid on Hasbro's part. I just hope there's room in the line for all these née heads before TF3 takes over...

Usually they have a handful of newish figures at toy fair which come out just before the big summer line hits.

Looking forward to being ignored in favor of continued rampant speculation!

Ah, perhaps a new character for the later waves of DotM then.

Seems like everyone wants to go the "Hasbro is giving us something extra" route. I am going to have to remain the cynic and say it's probably "Hasbro is to lazy to update production art". The fact that it is another cyclopsian head on a character that is already sans-binocular makes me think it was an early attmept at the Lugnut head that was scrapped and remained only in the instruction art. Then again anyone's guess is as good as mine.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

if that's the case, then maybe we aren't getting a new head on Tomahawk, Terradive or Thunderwing! and not Black Shadow would mean HasTak is raping my childhoood!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    end sarcasm...

i'm personally not liking this head much at all, and can't see buying this mold multiple times, so most likely i'll pass. But ultimately, until we actually see a colored picture of the actual toy, i won't be able to make full judgement...

I'm all for being cynical, but Hasbro has been using the instructions to tease the remold for months now, and it just keeps happening. Plus, I'm hearing that both heads were shown at BotCon (am I misinterpreting?) which means they are both on the mold. Also, your theory doesn't jive with the info from Nevermore.

So far, Hasbro is 2 for 2 on molds released with leaked new heads in the instructions (Skullgrin and WFC Cliffjumper). So until we see a trend of leaked head remolds NOT being released, I'm going to assume that melted gumdrop head here will be released eventually.

3 for 3. You guys are also forgetting Axor (who was the first instance of this, even).

A bit disappointed that the new head once again features a cycloptic eye (I know Lugnut technically has five eyes, HUSH!!).

I know the monstrous like might not be suitable for all sorts of heads, but I would have liked a new head to have actual eyes, nose, mouth, to make him stand out even more from Lugnut!

Anyway, I think it was already sort of revealed in a sketch a while back? I remember hearing about the possible retool....

My favorite example is Armada Blurr to Cybertron Blurr to Shattered Glass Blurr. (OK not TECHNICALLY the same character, but all Blurrs, going from non-g1-ish to g1-ish to more-g1-ish-with-eyepatch.)

^ Conceded. I didn't know that. However, that's because A/E/C is largely a blank spot to me.

your pic is gone, and I wanted to try it myself; this is just a quick layout idea, not a "check out my artwork" thing. the hues on the drawing are closer to what I was thinking than the jet mode shoop, but maybe a "tan/gray digital desert camo" paint scheme would reconcile the color sectioning?
    also: googly eye plane!

Read topic, it was stated at botcon it's just an extra head design they came up and wasnt intended to be used as any existing character. Just something extra they made in case, no character or use in mind.
