I got into TFs with Rid, but only bought products when Armada came into play.

I don't know how much for sure but lets see...
Armada (Cyclonus, Demolisher, Hot Shot, Dlx Optimus, Red Alert, Jetfire, lots of Minicon teams...) 140ish

Energon (Battle Ravage, Divebomb, Cruellock, Snowcat, Sharkiton, Starscream, HS, Inferno, Rodimus, Prowl) 98ish

    Animated Blitzwing - 12 dollars

    ROTF:
    Optimus Prime - 50
    BB/Arcee/Chromia/Elita/Jolt/Skids/Mudflap/Sideswipe -80 (give or take)
    Ratchet/Ironhide - 40

    Generations:
    Thunderwing, Darkmount, & Drift = 30

    $450?

    Then soon to be Highbrow/Breacher/Knockout/Hubcap = 44...

So almost 500, would be more if I had not been out bid in Ebay for Landmine...

I've done the calculations, spent hours looking at receipts, emails, and Paypal. My rough estimation is a lot.

Well if we're counting preorders I suspect I've spent $500-700.

    Oh man.

I'm counting 530 just on my classics shelf.

Then I have almost all of armada and energon, a good G1 pile, all of animated, lots of beast wars, and a whole crap load of movie toys.

I don't want to count those.

10-15k easily, a quick search would have popped up a long thread on this from a month ago or so

$305 in the last 3 weeks or so. And I've been collecting for about 10 years.

Enough to buy a real car or two, I imagine.

Easily enough to buy me a car, possibly two.

And I live in Canada, so the dollar is lower here usually, plus I've had to import items, or by some at inflated prices to to rarity or age taht would be easier and cheaper to get in the US.

Add up the cost of pretty much every U.S. release since Beast Wars and you'll have my number

What time frame are you looking for? Because if we count from 1984 untill now, we're talking at least $10-15,000 for me.......

Edit: Just for the sake of full disclosure, I started counting with the G1 Ratchet I got for my Birthday in October of 1984.....

    That means:
    ALL of G1
    most of G2
    some Machine Wars
    All of BW
    most of Beast Machines
    Everything from RID, Armada, Energon,Cybertron
    Some Universe
All of Classics, Generations so far
and some of the stuff from TF1 & TF2.....

I actually counted the other day. This year It was about $350. $30 a month, give or take, isn't too bad at all.
