Whew! The first time i saw the trailer,heard the menacing music & saw the face i said Unicron? Then i read all the posts here about it being Alpha or another elder Autobot and said oh,ok.  But remember,they did say a different take on an iconic character. Besides the Prime ears,he could still pass for a movieverse Unicron...a little bit?

 

I kind of feel the same way. The second that bot came on screen I immediately thought A3.

Good trailer. I love the mix of real historical events and TF's.

 

I just saw the TF3 trailer,it looked awesome.

 

That was definately well done. We got a shot of a bot in our first trailer! Well, multiple bots, even though they are dead... I love when people touch up on the old stuff, like Apollo missions, well done Bay, well done.

Hell of a lot better start than the first crap trailer we had on Mars with the first one. I shall eagerly await the next trailer with more bots.

 

but rumors have been circulating that "sentinel prime" would be in the TF3 movie & be optimus's dad. so sentinel is my guess who the bot was seen in the trailer.

 

I don't know who that face is supposed to be. He looks ancient and mystical though, so maybe it's... Primus? Hmm.

Indeed you can..Good Observation my friend...However, I believe "Dark Side of the Moon" is a metaphor for secrecy / disguise / unknown....not to be taken literally..because not only was the earth in the background.....There was light...........

There is space between the Moon and the Earth...Last time I checked quite a bit of space.


As far as all the speculation goes for the bot at the end....

My vote is Vector Prime / Alpha Trion / Sentinal Prime / Last Autobot. Pick One..doesn't have to make sense.

And lastly..I love the posts about how this is "underwhelming", "Not Good", "I hold out hope yet", etc...

This is a movie..It isn't real..It isn't based in reality...It isn't a movie genre that lends itself to deep, layered, multifaceted award winning writing process..It is a movie based off a toyline....Take it for what it is and enjoy the thing. This is a part of all our childhoods that has become pop culture. I see decepticon and autobot symbols everywhere I look now. I see people wearing TF T-shirts that probably have never actually heard of / witnessed a TF cartoon before now. I get compliments on my Bumblebee rearview mirror thingy from my colleages and bosses...THIS IS FUN....!!!!!

Everything we have enjoyed over the years has been brought to the masses. You may not like how it was executed...However, you didn't execute it...??? I appreciate Michael Bay for having the BALLS to try and take an 8 year olds Fantasy Land / @#% Dream and turn it into pure entertainmnet for all..Stereotypes and all.....

Depends on what you mean by Prime.

If you buy into all that 'Vector Prime is one of the original 13 Transformers, 7 of which are Primes', then Vector Prime is a true Prime.

If you go by the G1 interpretation of Prime, then Vector Prime isn't a true prime, but I'd say the G1 interpretation of Prime as a title is out of canonicity (sp?) in modern TF stories.
