What's that you say?? There is hope yet that my Garland may one day be able to hold up it's own gun??
I am working my through the various VF designs. I like the SV-51 - although not quite as much as the VF-27 - but I like it in black more than the red (especially with the VF-27 in the same red). But, the black version seems a lot more expensive. Is there any reason for this, and is it possible to find a black version for the same price as the red? Thanks. EDIT - I am talking about the 1/60 versions.
I think you answered your own question. The Ivanov SV-51 is more popular because of the character and because of the color scheme.
The joints on my Ivanov are definitely much more loose than the ones on Nora's. Other than that, I don't see another issue though.
Yes. The first release of Ivanovs had a production wide QC error where the hinges on the wings were installed improperly (Two right/left hinges instead of one right, one left), causing them to fold up incorrectly when transforming the fighter to Battroid mode. They also had issues with drooping wing roots and looser joints overall than the later releases.
Blasphemy! You know the SV is superior! It is strange though how they carry such a high price, especially for one with well known QC issues. Then again the cannon fodder SV is by far the least popular but I saw it online for almost $400 yesterday couldn't believe it. With that said if anybody is selling a tan SV or knows of a good price on one let me know. Looking to do a desert camo custom...
It was the 1st release, so might be harder to track down. There are less around I think, compared to Nora's, which has constantly been on clearance for the past year and/or more. Yes it did. The 1/60 YF-21 and SV-51 Nora Custom were known for having great qc all around. However I am missing a piece from the landing gear on my Nora. SUPPORT! Heh, speaking of which, I have TV Focker on the way. Might jump for the 1/48 1S too.
How selective are you guys when it comes to Macross? Am I one of the few that collects pretty much anything Macross in this thread?
1- Character preference 2- Mostly variable fighters(one of the few not buying the SDF-1, nor really wanting it) 3- Combat relevance 4- Quality of toy(s) 5- Coolness factor of deco For example, I love the 1/55's, think the MPC is decent, respect the 1/48, enjoy the V2 1/60 VF-1 line, think the 1/60 VF-0 is dated, impressed with the SV-51 and blown away by the 1/60 VF-11.
just sdf/dyrl? and frontier for me. i'll be in so much debt than i am now if i were to branch out into the other series!
Bummer. Just heard back from them and they said they will send me "a part" for my Garland, but pretty much told me I'm SOL on my VF-0A who's arm literally crumbled in my hands...
Ok Ok, maybe when the VF-17 comes out So far, other than the SDF-1, there is really nothing for me to look forward to. I may pick up the Hi-Metal VF-1S if I have the disposable cash on a whim, but I'm good with the Hi-Metal VF-19Kai with the sound booster, and I got my 1D, I'm good. What's on my plate are actually the SOC Daltanious and the eventual GodSigma.
