Actually, I believe Wave 1 is Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Gold Bumblebee. Wave 2 includes Prowl and Trailbreaker.

Good thing Megatron has that orange tip... otherwise we might mistake a child with it for one of the elite 1-in-30million potential owners of a $6000 novelty mini-revolver. :)

Heh. Darts, letter openers, nail files and chopsticks are all "potentially fatal" too. I think the entire country is due for a strip-search, just to make sure there are no weapons being concealed. And then everything that is NOT a weapon can be painted orange, just so we know. CARS are probably the most deadly and poorly controlled weapon in the country... I think all vehicle Transformers should start being produced with neon orange bumpers. Sure, they're small, but hey... have you ever seen a Smart Car? You could kill someone with that. Maybe. :lol

I believe they were both day 1. The Autobot jet (what was his name again?) definitely was. I got mine at the Botcon launch event and got the darker version, and the initial lighter one was around in about equal numbers at that point. Buying the thing at the special launch event and getting the variant is pretty solid evidence that variants can happen at the time of release IMO.

I wonder if Megatron is small enough to be held in alt. form by a larger transformer... like MP Starscream,

MP Screamer has articulated fingers, so it's plausible.

The MP Starscream ability to hold this Legends Megatron was revealed at the Botcon designer's panel where this debuted. So yeah, he's supposed to be able to be held by the mold.

That's a good idea. I'll have to find a way for Squeezeplay to hold him!

Maybe they added the orange as a prank?

A buyer from a previous auction asked if the toy actually had the orange tip and the seller said no orange tip. Now did the seller just look at his auction pictures or the actual product, I don't know.

Maybe it's an early version before it was decided the full production run would feature orange caps? Or maybe it is meant for a different market?

Why do I feel like we just had the very same discussion with the very same people already?

Because nobody can''t be bothered to read anything that's gone before in threads that's not on the same page :lol

I don't care either way anyway. Think the orange cap is fun.
