I could've sworn that the one shown at toy shows was a deeper, more sparkly, purple?

...and describing that mold as advanced is just plain misleading.

 

Ugh. Still among the ugliesst Transformers I have ever seen. And still perpetually on my "pass" list.

 

Glad BBTS had one to preorder, I like that Elita-1.

 

Better than the US release, but still pretty bad.

 

Elita looks nice. Not great, but nice. I'd buy that.

In retrospect, I regret bitching about her not being an Arcee repaint back in February... Arcee was hell on earth to stabilize and transform. Chromia was a great figure.

 

Huh, not much discernible difference between the US and Japan releases for Hubcap and Brimstone, eh? Is Hubcap's shade of brown a teensy bit browner? Any major differences I'm missing?

Part of me was almost tempted to order the AA Hubcap, because I love that little mold so much and it would be nice to have an excuse to get a second one. But it's so similar it seems dumb to do so. I'll just hold out in hopes of a nice repaint.

There are no changes on AA Hubcap. I think Brimstone has metallic blue, though.

 

Brimstone & hubcap are both hasbro version.... Not takara version, according to the blogger...

 

Oh.... well, that explains why they don't look any different.

Although if Breacher is anything to judge by, the differences will be pretty negligible anyway.

 

This isn't a matter of mistranslation or some error. The name is given IN ENGLISH right there on the package! Also, Blimstone is a grave insult in my region, fucking Hasbro.

It always made me mad that elita 1 never got her own mold,considering hasbro had more than a year to come up with designs after the movie came out. Hasbro needs to step their game up when TF3 comes out.

 

I wonder if Hubcap's going to get any other decos? He's a pretty cool little guy though, but the Orange seems to get a little boring after a week.

Also it seems like he's unarmed. I bought him about the same time as I bought Backfire, and they look good together (Backfire's a little bit shorter at the head, although his wheels on his shoulder are taller) and so I posed them together for about a week or so. Back fire's got his little gun arm (and Nepoleon complex) but Hubcap just kinda sits there. If only they hadn't put a little bend at the end of the exausts, he could have a pair of arm mounted guns (like the Seekers). But in a fight pose he comes up short.

Also the head on mine barely moves.

 

I'd like Hubcap in black with flames up the sides.

Actually, the Hubcap mold would make a nice little Optimus Minor as he's got the grill and headlights on his chest, a mouthplate, and the blue and grey parts of his limbs would be completely hidden inside the red shell of his alt mode.
