Just a quick thought regarding some earlier posts about Megatron and Prime and hoping "that they are their own version"...

    How?

You have iconic Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime (G1, Movie) and the iconic Frank Welker voicing Megatron (G1).

No matter HOW you look at it, we'll all think we're watching G1 again :p

Voice doesn't mean much characterization wise tho, I mean, just look at all the Megatron's Kaye voiced that weren't the Beast Wars one.

That's a good point. Armada Meg didn't quite have the same charisma as BW Meg. I'd say the same goes for Garry Chalk with Prinal vs any of the Unicron trilogy Primes.

Although I would hope that doesn't turn out to be the case for Cullen and Welker on TFP.

I'd say it'll be more like watching the movie games again, 'cause I don't remember Prime sounding that gruff and world weary back in '1984. Or Frank Welker that hoarse :p

Nah it would only be the movie games if we couldn't understand what Soundwave and Starscream were saying.

Clearly you havne't heard Welkers new take on his Megatron voice. It's a lot better then what he was doing for the movie games.
Plus G1 Meg always sounded a little hoarse, anyway.

And Cullen's Prime does sound a tad "gruffer" then it use to, but freakly it works for this version of Prime, whose seen a lot of war. Also, the man's aged since 84, of course it's going to sound a little different.
