Whoa guys! Congratulations! I have just checked the site a moment ago and I was totally amazed! I love it! As a tfw2005 old timer, I can say this looks very fresh and modern.

    thanks!

I think the colors make it easier to read. People need to turn their lights on. I think it's easier to read the way it is.

I personally hate it. I know you guys put a lot of work into it and all, and i respect that (to a degree), but i just prefer the old purple look. This is easier to read, but lacks the smooth flow to everything to old one had; everything is just too strong, and the harsh black borders around each and every section make them seem disjointed and cut away from the rest, like a lot of small panels floating in a sea of white. Just doesn't work for me, sorry, it becomes too in-your-face, too stark, and above all, an eyesore. Oh well, at least the people don't suck, and that's all that really matters.

I like the change, and think it looks great. I've got only one minor gripe. Why no view new posts link on the front page anymore?

I'm really liking the new look. Like others have said, It's a bit too bright, but the whole site doesn't seem as cluttered and loading times are significantly faster.
    It just seems more streamlined.
*EDIT*-Comic section is sick. Love the full colour photographs and the ease of navigation.

It's far too bright for me. After just a few minutes my eyes were already aching and it feels like I'm heading for a migrane. I adjusted the brightness of my screen down to try and ease the problem but then it's a bugger having to switch back and forth when jumping around to other sites. I'll have to dig out my anti-glare screen to spend any great amount of time here.
The whites and the greys blend together and it makes the dark boxes jump out and stab my eyes. They kinda look like they're floating too. It's really not pleasant to use so I reckon I'll probably be using it less.

Also, and I'm sure you've put a lot of work into the new look, but now it seems too stark and plain, like someone just got their first free messageboard and they've not yet done anything to personalise it away from the base settings.

I concur with everything you said, although I can get used to everything except for the brightness - i've been on the site for 15 minutes this morning and I'm getting a headache from it. I'm not sitting in a dark room, either.

I wonder if it would be possible to have "regular" and "subdued" options in the control panel for users to change the background. I have to be honest, at the current brightness I'll probably be logging in far less frequently.

I haven't fully explored all the additions yet, but so far I like it. I VERY MUCH appreciate the fact that most of the changes were directed towards a simpler, cleaner appearance, without actually changing the layout or functionality.

Normally I HATE website revisions, since it's too much "change for change's sake" that ultimately frustrates and irritates longtime users. But you guys got it right this time! :thumbs2:

i just compared a few pages i had open of the old style and the new, and i don't think its all that different... its slightly brighter, but i think it looks really crisp and sharp...

i certainly appreciate all the hard work that goes into this site... its like a small army behind it to keep it going... and for that, i say thanks!
