So my good friend Optibotimus got his review up the other day, but he missed a few bits. No worries, thanks to his input I covered a few of the things he originally missed.

The bottom line is this is a great figure. When you can you should pick this one up.

i dont like him at all!
he should be alot bigger. voyager class maybe.
and his chest looks way too bulky compaired to his thin arms and legs

i def like the custom Dak showed on here better.

i find that transformation kinda cool, simple but satisfying.

A pity the drone cannot become a robot though. I do like the way the classics pull out occasional gimmick laden toys from g1 and update them but its unfortunate they didnt have all the aspects of the gimmick, thunderwing lacking the mini robot as an example. I'd like to see more one off gimmick toys in the universe line, eg duocon, clones, head masters, that type of thing, i found the gimmicks one of the more interesting aspects of g1 toys.

That would have been way too cool. A little minicon named "Nosecone". :)

preciate the review. Looking forward to him. Wish they could have made the drone into a minicon or something and I would have liked thigh swivels, but I'll definitely grab him.

LOL, now that is an insult! :p . In all seriousness, I don't see the problem with Thunderwing's transformation (and his appearance in either mode). At least the arms and such are on the bottom side. You aren't going to see them as often as a head popping out of the roof of a car or truck like Energon Ironhide or Cybertron Red Alert.

This figure is a darn near perfect representation of Thunderwing. Beautiful rendition.

I really couldn't agree more with you. His arms have enough little bits of detailing on him that, if you rotate his fists as i did in the video...they hide fairly well and blend in nicely if you ask me. i honestly haven't been able to stop fiddling with the guy since i got him!

well hasbro was gonna do it but on the deluxe budget they couldn't do it right so we got a drone.....

now don't quote me on this, but i have heard a rumor from at least 2 members of this board that some fan company is making a drone for thunderwing, and if they do, that would ROCK!

i'm hoping fansprojects makes the super mode armor and it comes with the little robot that can replace the drone

Thunderwing looks like a MOTU villian with a GI-Joe backpack providing the transformy-bits...

...Which is admittedly what his G1 self looked like too. I'm not going to rag too much on his Univ. Silverbolt-esque transformation, but between that, not being all that poseable, being rather short for a leader(a common issue with Generations) and not having a inner robot...he's not bad; just a missed opportunity.

I'm quoting you! :p  I would buy every add-on kit made for this toy. Its kinda funny but out of all the upcoming TF toys I think Thunderwing is the one I'm most looking forward to.

I just hope that, like Darkmount, he starts a photo meme in the cool pics thread, with Thunderwing yelling "WHERE IS THE CREATION MATRIX!" to different characters and objects.
