I think a Ford Ka would make a good substitute for Bumblebee's auto mode; it's small, rounded & Hasbro have already worked with Ford before (on Alt. Wheeljack & Grimlock).

 

I like the idea for the alt mode. It's in Bumblebee's spirit allright.

This is also a nice idea for an alt mode. But I think Ford KA is better.

I wonder if they could secure "Goldbug" if not Bumblebee, and yeah if they can make other "cars that aren't real cars but pretty close to realistic" like the two recent Downshifts, I'm sure they could come up with a cool vehicle for Bumblebee that wouldn't need to be licensed from some company.

Perhaps the highly anticipated "neo g1" line will finally give him some love, even if it is under a weird ass name or something.

Actually there is no guarantee that it won't happen. Don Murphy stated on his site that VW is interested in the movie. Hasbro just may be holding out until the movie to get the licenses for the Beetles (Bumblebee and Cliffjumper). Awesome move on their part. Also, it was recently stated that we will have to wait awhile for bumblebee's mold. (Hasbro UK) Another small nod which just further's the theory.

The Beetle is the first in my and many other fan's hearts too. I believe hasbro knows this and as long as there is a chance of hasbro getting it right. They should follow through.
Here's hoping VW will pull there head out!

 

Cliffjumper wasn't a beetle actually, it's some sort of midget ass race car, I don't know if it's a real model or not since it's so tiny and deformed.

I know that's being anal and far too stuck in the past though, if we ever do get a beetle 'Jumper then whatever, better than no Jumper at all I guess.

And hell no, the dune buggy from Energon doesn't count  

 

You mean cliffjumper wasn't a "bug" in the old series. Beetle is the new bug. and Has/Tak had a design for the bumblebee and cliffjumper mold as beetles, just never put it into production becuase they hadn't got a VW license yet.

Yeah, I'm just happy if we get a small cliffjumper in red with homage to his original head too! But with how hasbro is, that may be asking too much anymore.

 

believe it or not, cliffjumper was a porsche. 924/944, it's hard to tell because the body style was similar for those two models.

 

I think the Lotus may be a little too badass for Bumblebee... the KA, however, could fit.

I'd still like to see what's going to happen with the movie however.

 

I always thought he was a 2nd gen RX-7. I seem to recall one foot (side of the hood) had a vent in it, which was on the turbo models.

Either way it's one of the most in acurate TFs of the '84 line. I think only Gears is more genaric
