The pics look great. I am actually digging this Fansproject piece, but I found that they'll also release a Shadow Scythe version which is what I REALLY want, only to find out it's already out of stock @TFSource. Can anybody kindly point me to another retailer that sells it?

 

Shadow Scyther is exclusive in North America to TF Source and Robot Kingdom overseas.

If you see it elsewhere, it is likely from a store that bought it from TF Source and is re-selling it, which means . . . . $$$

I went through the phase, but its G1 from now on baybee....

 

now i know people have their options on this projects upgrades some agree and some don't my options is that i was so thrill to get fan's project ultra magnus that when i put it together i was so piss off because the parts or so tight to put on that it puts stress marks on the trailer if your luckey to get it on without breaking it and the arm pieces don't stay on and the chest piece can break very easy making it for me 2 out of 10 and don't get me on the price of 145 so from that i give rodimus prime upgrade 1 out of 10

Um, Protector is a general release; Shadow Scyther is limited to 300 units.

Why would anyone trade a limited unit for a general one?

Try trading a Classics Hot Rod/Henkei Rodimus for Shattered Glass Rodimus . . .

I can Guarantee that someone out there will make some add on face like they did for CC. So the face doesn't worry me in the slightest.

 

I actually like that FansProject took creative license with this armor. TakaraTomy is making an animation accurate MP Rodimus, so that satisfies my desire of having an MP of Rodimus Prime.

However, it does not fulfill my desire to have a Classics Rodimus Prime, which FansProject does. Classics has designs inspired by G1, meant to be modern versions of the G1 characters, yet isn't slavish towards the G1 toy/character designs. That's why I like the Protector armor, it's in line with Classics rather than just upgrading Classics Hot Rod to a fully articulated Rodimus.

 

On Vange1us' YouTube posting, the FansProject rep hinted at an alternate face sculpt for Protector. As far as arm articulation there are several enhancements starting at the base of the bicep - arms look to rotate away from the body (think: jumping jacks), due to transformation a double hinged elbow, and a swivel wrist. Wish they had a picture of Sidearm manning the trailer in tank mode. And, I really hope there is one more layer of paint detail before shipping out (the facade of the "U" on his chest needs to be painted orange to break up the overpowering amount of yellow in that area).

 

Okay. I am trying to figure out if the Drone vehicle comes with the Protector set or is a separate Purchase. According to BBTS it includes.

only thing i don't like is the grey piece on the back of the head.....it ruins the head for me.....oh well, still overall i love this figure and when i get it in my hand i'll fall in love with it completely, so i look forward to it and my 5 sidearms  

 

So the Drone (Roller) comes with the set then.

Wonder how the henkei rodimus will look with it in vehicle mode. I know Sidearm has a gold chrome set of wing extenders for the Henkei version, but what of the vehicle mode?
