Well, we're about 13 days away from the release of Sonic Team's next main series game, Sonic Colors. What have we to look forward to...?

    -Unleashed-style gameplay minus Night Stages
-Story from the writers of Madworld, Lazy Town
-Voices of characters recast, Roger Craig Smith of Assassin's Creed's Ezio now voicing the titular hedgehog. Eggman remains the same.
-Unexpected Co-op mode that implements 3D/2D transitioning levels, some based on classic Sonic levels like Green Hill, the ability to place Mii heads on robots.
-Powerup system, in which one can utilize "classic" boosting, drilling, super-fast laser bouncing, rocketing, wall-crawling, "switch" systems(turning blue rings to blocks, vice versa), hover-capabilities and light dash, and berserk rages in both 2D and 3D. Powerups can be combined in Co-op mode.
-7 different themed planets/areas, featuring 6 Acts each. This is in addition to 7, three-tiered Co-op areas.
-Same old ranking system with a twist- now tells you how many points you need to get to the next rank, and bonus points appear in-level so you can keep track of what bonuses help/hurt score.
-EDIT: How could I forget? It features control options for those of you who hate your Hedgehogs with waggle- The Wiimote-Nunchuk style is offered as well as the beautiful Nintendo Gamecube Controller.

Yep. That's all I got. I'm a Sonic skeptic myself, having been a long-time fan consistently let down by the unappealing games, BUT... if this plays like Unleashed and is ALL Unleashed, then this could be good. COULD.

Pre-release reception has been favorable on all fronts, the levels play well and have an impressive amount of platforming in them. Having played a demo of the game myself at NYCC, I must say it looks pretty damn good- far more thrilling and enticing than Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (which I loved, but that's whatever). I mean, Sonic Team's been known to fuck it up at the last minute, but this could be the return to decency that Sonic the Hedgehog has been so desperately needing. Here's hoping!

For those interested in the DS version- you're getting Sonic Rush 3. Not a bad thing, per se, but you may want something a little different. There's two exclusive Wisps in this version- Red Flame and Violent Vortex.

This has every bit of potential to be the best 3D Sonic game yet (not that that's hard, but ya know). Really looking forward to it.

This is looking great , can't wait until release date.

Its been getting pretty amazing reviews, haven't seen on under 80% for the Wii version.

I will be getting the Wii and Ds versions.

Was dissapointed by what I've heard from Sonic 4; I hope Sonic Team hold nothing back and make this awesome since Sonic's 20th is approaching, and I'd hate to see the game that's supposed to come out with it screwed like his 15th.

Did you see the gameplay? Or are you going to be one of those sonic fans that complain about the cutscenes.

I'm probably just going to skip the cutscenes from what i've seen and play the game.

I hope the DS version is good. Ain't never touchin' a Wii again. (And that's not Nintendo hate, just Motion Gaming hate.)

Welcome to "what everybody wants," judging by the major hopping-on-bandwagon that occurred this year.

Did I mention you can use a gamecube controller?

That's great, but I'm not buying a system dedicated to motion gaming when the "big perk!" is that you can also use a standard controller on some games. How about the other way around like on the PS3 or 360?

And yes, I know that motion gaming is "the thing" now. I hope it dies down. If motion gaming is ever REQUIRED for all main gaming systems going forward... then I'm done with gaming. I cannot over-emphasize how much I hate that type of gameplay.

Regardless, we're getting off topic. I was just expressing my mild frustration that the first "big console" full-fledged probably-will-be-good Sonic game coming out in a loooong time has to come out only on the Wii.

Dude, you either can't read or you're color blind. It clearly states Purple Frenzy. Sorry to sound like a jerk, but epic joke fail......

Gah, I'm suddenly getting hyped again.
Not to sound defensive of what does amount to a crappy joke, but I'm fairly sure that one was blue and purple, while the other was red and black.

Sooooooo... Frenzy jokes aside, the game looks pretty good too.
