Apparently TFW is entitled to have questions answered now?

    Raving Toy Maniac Q&A:
Hasbro's Transformers Q&A November 2010 - Raving Toy Maniac - The Latest News and Pictures from the World of Toys

I love Hasbro's answer to that first question. It's so sass.

I think the thing about those three lines RTM mention is that:

Star Wars is an American cultural phenomenon, enjoyed the world over. The old Star Wars movies can still be enjoyed by kids, so they will still want toys of the "old characters" and ships and vehicles. Star Wars as a toyline is not dependent on its adult collectors (that's why Hasbro waited until Clone Wars came out to release all those giant vehicles). GI Joe has less broad appeal than Transformers (especially outside of America) and MOTU is just a straight up collectors line.

Transformers doesn't have the cultural impact of Star Wars or the widespread love for G1 (or anything else from the past), yet it doesn't need to limit its products to adult collectors. Transformers is more of a "here and now" (and the future) toyline.

I never bought into the "Everything finished and waiting in a warehouse" belief. The fact that the recent Rodimus & Ironhide releases use the 2010-style paper ties instead of wire ties could be viewed as evidence against that assumption. If there were any Animated toys I could think might (big "might") actually be already produced and collecting dust in storage, it would be Thundercracker and Mudbuster Bulkhead, since they were plugged for release of Hasbro's website more than once.

New molds sure, though I'll survive if the repaints never were produced (possible exceptions being Thundercracker and Vortex Blurr - 'cause that would make a neat Batmobile TF)

I am very curious now how often the "No plans for further Animated" answer will be reused in this Q&A round.

Those two questions are a buncha fanwank. What a waste!

How do you figure? Their answer was: "Unfortunately, at this point in time those will be the last Animated figures that will be released."

They in no way, put the final nail in the coffin. Hasbro is going to want to try and release these figures to try and make back at least some of the money they invested in them.

Everything you just said! I demand a sequel to the "Seekers Debacle" Give me Slipstream, Thundercracker and Ramjet with a conehead!

    Again, how is that final?

I agree on this though. WTF @ TFW?

    Well stated.

Edit: Thanks to all of you have posted answers, I really appreciate it!

I wouldn't expect anymore WfC figures until a sequel is made.

Probably for the same reason some people are still asking questions about Alternators. :)

Sorry, I specifically asked about Thundercracker, and also mentioned Mudbuster Bulkhead, asking about their inclusion on the site. I was told that neither of them should have been uploaded, it was done in error, and that it was the same situation for those two, just like with the other Animated figures. Only test samples, prototypes, and packaging samples were made. :(

I'm really glad to know that I'm not the only one who thought Vortex Blurr looked like the Batmobile! I'm also rather sad about Mercenary Swindle; come on, who wouldn't want a Swindle toy based on both R.I.D. Rollbar and G.I. Joe's Destro?!

I'm honestly surprised they didn't answer it with a "Are you not paying attention, do you not see Jazz, Tracks, Kup, Wreck-Gar, G-2 Prime, etc, etc etc" Those toys from what I gather are exactly what that question is asking. Vintge figures with updated sculpts and articulation.

Or is that question asking something as drull as re-releasing G1 Soundwave with balljointed shoulders, and double jointed knees...

That's basically what some fangeeks want: Hasbro adding knee joints to Diaclones.

    This.

Oh and I lol'd at the implying that TFW is owed dibbs on Q&A... and should be given a "chat" to make up for it.

It's not their fault. It's the fault of the people asking repetative or so-simple-even-a-casual-collector-can-tell-you questions.

IMO, I'm starting to think Hasbro doesn't like this site. We seem to be the only site that doesn't get our questions answered.

I'm very tempted to start up my own forum (for a completely non-TF subject), take some questions from here, submit them on behalf of said forum, then re-post the results here.
