Jazz is dead. His part wasn't that big. Leave him alone.

He had like 3 lines of dialog, he was the smallest of all the formers, he didnt do much fighting. hell, he sat there in car mode while Bee crawled forward limbless and in pain.

    FUCK THAT DUDE

I find it ironic that you said "FUCK THAT DUDE" when Robot Heroes Jazz is in your sig.

You're right, someone does have to say it...

Yeah, he didn't go racing down the street pulling off the "Kup" move and start ripping off Brawls weapons, he didn't take on Megatron to give the Autobots a chance to fall back. These are sarcasm statements by the way...

Are we still seriously discussing this?! We have had how many threads about "JAZZ IS DEAD!", or "Why did Jazz just stay in alt mode". Jazz and Ratchet stayed in alt mode, so they wouldn't be more targets for the missile attack from Starscream. Ironhide transforms, warns them to fall back, calls for Bumblebee's assistance to create a blockade. That is all there is too it, he was doing what he was told by Ironhide. K? Can we just end this before it gets so out of hand?

Exhibit A why Bayformers 1 was a lousy movie.

Jazzes death was pointless. Absolutely pointless.

I think fans have every right to complain about Jazzes death even to this day. It helps remind people of what an idiotic movie moment that was.
I could maybe understand it if Jazz died with some dignity, but no; he got ripped in half (a flesh would for Transformers), and then got thrown to the ground, and then the Autobot didn't even give a shit about him.
Jazzes death is a perfect example why Micheal Bay is a terrible director, and clearly does not give a crap about the Transforers series.

While I do agree with most of what you are saying, there are several things you have to realize. Most people don't like to keep bringing up very old topics that have been talked about ad nauseum.

As far as Bay movies go, like them or hate them they have been a vehicle to get alot more attention and revenue pumped into our hobby. Hasbro is able to take alot more chances and put more things out for us to collect. It is my opinion that alot of what we are seeing today wouldn't be possible without the Bayverse movies.

If it were pointless we wouldn't still be talking about it, would we?

He's dead and not coming back, totally agreed on that. And seeing as how he was my fave G1 character, I really wish he hadn't been killed. However, his death sequence was pretty damn cool and he went out with a serious bang, taking on Megatron all by himself so that the humans and other Autobots could fall back while awaiting Prime's arrival. He fulfilled his job as Prime's second in command.

Only the rushed "memorial" at the end of the movie soured his death. He pulled some of the best fighting moves and was a visual treat to watch. I still think he's the best design to come out of the movies, save perhaps for Prime, flames notwithstanding. And his Human Alliance figure is great.

Do I wish he'd been given more screen time? Of course, he's my favorite Autobot. But given that the movie had to maintain some semblance of focus on the chosen main characters, I understand. If there were a lot more material PRIOR to the movie, as there was with G1, it would have had a lot more impact, but the fact of the matter is that he was killed at the beginning of the continuity, leaving no time for audiences to get involved in his character.

Think of it this way: If the 1986 movie were the first thing we'd seen Optimus Prime in, his death wouldn't have been a big deal. As it is, it was epic and a huge shock for viewers.

What I would LOVE to see are some flashback sequences, either on Cybertron or on the Ark, in the new movie. Show us the first movie's cast in cybertronian form, before they get to earth. Tie it in with the plot somehow, and give Jazz a big role in the flashback. This would do 2 things: One, it'd provide some perspective on the events in the new movie and a way to tie the new story in to the existing continuity. Two: It'd posthumously make his appearance in the first movie way cooler. Imagine re-watching the first film after watching DOTM if Jazz were featured - it'd vastly magnify the impact of his death.

Not the cool Jazz that I remembered from G1. I think the only one that really stayed true was Prime.

I agree with boxer person. Jazz is one of my favorite tfs and i wish he didn't get killed off/ had more screen time/had a better memorial. But in the end what can you do? Some transformers are going to get more focus than others. Some autobots gotta bite it, or decepticon fans would be even more pissed.

Atleast Jazz got to be included in the film. I really liked his design and alt mode. And he had some pretty cool sequences.Actually, compared to the autobots in ROTF, Jazz had alot of screen time and dialogue. We saw his transformation about 3 times, he had about 9-10 lines, and he had about 3-4 min of screentime. Thats alot compared to the new autbots in ROTF(besides the twins)

oh and i think the whole, he didn't help bumblebee when his legs were blown off thing is kinda pointless. I think it really just came down to the filmakers deciding to keep him in alt mode rather than spening more money on him in cgi. I really don't think it was a character thing, besides, Jazz was the only autobot that continuously expressed his concern for bumblebee when he was captured by S7.

Sooo, what about all those deaths in the 1986 movie uh? If I recall it was not Bay directing that one at the time.

At least all those characters who died in 1986 had two years to shine before croaking. Poor Movie Jazz barely had an hour.

Well I probably don't need to point this out, but I will. A lot of the characters killed in the 1986 movie had their shining moments in the cartoon series.

Jazz was killed off, just to kill him off.

I have no problem killing off characters in a series as long as it's done right.

Is that guy really STILL complaining about the first movie? No wonder I put him on ignore years ago.

I have no comment on movie Jazz's death, other than to say he had way more than 3 lines. It's over 10 at least. More than Ratchet.
