I don't play WoW, but I agree with every point in this video: Geek is...

    Notice what leads it off.

I always assumed nerd was more with computer, electronics, etc.

Geek seems more Transformers collecting, anime, roleplaying, etc.

Yeah, nerds by my own definition tend to gravitate toward more technical interests.

Geeks are basically people who are as social, can have a relationship etc. as anyone else.
Nerds and geeks have similar hobbies/interest but nerds often have a higher IQ and tend to be like that anti-social "live in your mother's basement" stereotype.
Dorks are like nerds in almost every way, except they are nearly borderline ******ed.

It's probably the most accurate info I ever read on EncyclopediaDramatica :lol

What I find funny is how many fictional geek icons are physically adept and yet how many geeks are still chubby and/or weaklings. I keep seeing it.

Don't they find any inspiration there? I'll tell you, I've been a big fan of the Hulk for decades. I've been seriously weight-training for a few years now and the stronger I get, the more I start to identify with the character. Heck, in the haunted attraction I perform in I'm a huge, hulking beast, and my job is to go running at the guests, crashing into a set of steel bars, shaking them wildly, then escaping the cage and charging them. Hulk is a great inspiration for that, let me tell you.

One thing I've noticed about a lot of the really iconic superheroes is their blend of brains and brawn. I just see a lot of geeks only hitting one-half of that equation. It's hard work, but can be approached very intellectually if one has a mind to.

That's just always kind of bothered me, and more and more as I get into better and better condition.

But that aside, I think to me, being a geek means not being ashamed of interests I had as a child that I still have as a man. Being an adult means I can make my own choices as to what entertains me and to hell with anyone who gainsays me.

A nerd knows things that kill his chances of scoring with the geeky babes in even the coolest Science class. and still decides to share it.
I am guilty of this myself.
