Tracks triangular flame was one of the most iconic aspects of the characters vehicle I don't know why they chose to emit that and go with a "tribal" look which is IMO horribly outdated at this point. Other than that, (which can be rectified by a mere sticker ) I'm very much looking forward to Tracks & Wheeljack as like many of you, I've been waiting a long time for a Classic version of these guys.

Are those clip on weapons a standard size on all the figures that have them and therefore interchangeable?

I really want to love this new Tracks figure, but the weird tribal flames as well as the fact that he's a bit on the short side (I hoped that he's going to be Drift's size, as in a large deluxe) just make me sad. I'm going to wait and see what Takara are going to do with him before making a decision as for which version to buy. With Tracks as one of my all time favorites, I don't mind shelling an extra $20 if it means that I'm getting a better figure.

 

the Takara version is almost guaranteed to have the proper hood deco.

 

I'm also hoping for it to have a little more pizzaz. I mean, the sheet sexiness of Tracks' G1 toy is lacking in this updated version, and maybe Takara, with some vibrant coloring and details, could make this version better.
Honestly, I'm more excited to see what Takara are going to do with Jazz since his Hasbro version is... Lacking and quite plain.

 

Well I love it. I like that it doesn't have an official "flying car" mode since that was always a ******ed gimmick, and I'm indifferent to the new flames deco since flames look outdated & cheesy no matter what kind of pattern you use. It looks to be another great UPDATED representation of yet another G1 character, and definitely is no worse than a lot of other CHUGU figures that probably could have been done better.

 

Another awesome looking figure.
My only concern is with the rub signs.Are they going to eventually peel up like the old G1 rub signs?

 

I'm so hyped for this guy to come out! can't wait. I'm surprised jazz hasn't been on ebay yet.

I have a question concerning the hood, since you have this figure in hand (and assuming this is exactly what Hasbro is sending down the pipeline with no further modifications): is the hood molded blue plastic, or does it have a top coat of blue? My assumption is that the plastic is, in fact, molded blue (making the flame removal easy), but I thought I'd ask to double check. Thanks, man  

 

It's molded blue. I mentioned in my video it would be real easy to remove the flames with some rubbing alcohol.

 

Other than his flames and "flight mode" I really like him. BBTS can't get their shipment in fast enough.

Just a little more waiting time to go 'til this guy & Jazz hit the shelves & I for one am counting down the days!   I haven't been this psyched for new Classics figures since - well, since Classics 2.0 hit the shelves  . Even though Tracks' altmode looks a little "Hot Wheels"-ish, the designers have done a great job on his botmode. I just hope "November 2010" doesn't equal 30/11/10...

 

wonder how much better this would ahve been if they didn't plan on reusing him fro Wheeljack (and how much will Wheeljack suffer?)

flight mode should definitely have been improved, and would have like if the missiles were more "stoable" like Prowl/Silverstreak

on the other hand glad they didn't neglect either his handweapon or missiles, like Sideswipe/Sunstreaker
